HF was open Thrs, 12/17. There is a shed at the trail head where you buy your pass. 2. Porta potties plus the bathrooms at the Community Shelter are open. Horsedrawn Sleigh Rides are running this weekend - 12/19 - 20 https://www.onondagacountyparks.com/parks/highland-forest/ 2020-2021 Cross Country Ski Season Passes are now available to purchase ONLINE ONLY. Please note: Season Passes will NOT be available to purchase at the park. Highland boasts 40 miles of cross-country ski trails, 20 of which are groomed and track-set for all ability levels, and 3 skate ski loops. It is the ideal place for skiers who are looking to experience the pristine nature that Southern Onondaga County has to offer.

Nice XC classic & skate skiing, hiking, at Highland Forest on Sat 2/1. Sleigh rides also. For hiking you don't need snowshoes but micro spikes help where the snow is hard packed.

MTR 1 at Highland Forest Jan. 17, 18, and 19. 2020 MTR-1 will get you ready for the extended backpacking that occurs in MTR-2 and is a great time to learn outdoor skills from others.
