Pharah, our lobby lizard, has been extremely active the past few days and keeps trying to get outside. I think this is a good sign spring is almost here! Winter Update: I hope everyone is staying safe and warm during this crazy storm! It's no surprise that our very long driveway is not great during the winter with its giant hills. We always do our best to clear it, but especially with storms like these it can be quite the challenge (the wind is not helping). If anyone ever has issues getting up the driveway we have no problem coming down to get you and/or your pets, so just give us a call at the bottom!... Random notes: *I hope no one ever worries if their pets are being abandoned or neglected while they are in our care. No matter the weather there will ALWAYS be someone here to care for your animals, even if Chris or I have to walk in 5 feet of snow to get here we will! *If your dogs don't like the snow we don't force them to go in it. We always shovel lots of paths for the dogs in our fenced in areas, especially for the little ones. *Please be courteous prior to and during inclement weather. Please call us in advance to let us know if you're not going to make it at your designated time or if you're going to cancel. We don't like when customers have to pay cancellation fees. We're doing our best to stay afloat during this pandemic, but as months go on and there continues to be more travel restrictions, and everyone's holiday plans are getting cancelled, it's becoming more and more difficult. Here's how you can help: 1) Have a friend who boards their pets here or does dog daycare? We have gift certificates available that can be mailed to you!... 2) Plan on boarding with us in the future? You can put a boarding credit on file with us that doesn't expire! 3) Is your dog bored at home or driving you crazy while you're trying to work from home? Bring them in for doggie daycare! We'll give them lots of love. 4) Purchase things from our store. We don't have a huge selection, but we have quite a variety and next week our Christmas toys will be ready for purchase! **I'm really trying to sell anything perishable here and we have 4 bags of wilderness trail treats left (see photo). **We also have 4 bags of Ice B' Gone Ice Melt left (see photos) which works great and is pet safe! (We use it all around our pet resort) 50lb bag for only $29.99!! **Does your dog chew a lot? Try a deer antler! We sell them super cheap here compared to other stores and I have quite a few left (see photo). Kitty Update!! (For all of you wonderful people who care about our girl) Chris and I's little tripod is doing very well and ready to go home! No more cone, meds, or restrictions! Since we are closed this weekend we will be bringing her home tomorrow to start reacclimating her to the house. She is very happy all the time and has adjusted pretty quickly to having 3 legs. Thank you to everyone who has donated and wished our girl well!! Chris and I appreciate you all. B had her leg amputation surgery yesterday and this was the picture the vet sent us today. We pick her up tomorrow and recover for about another 10-14 days. Thank you!!

I feel a little weird posting this on our pet resort page, but a lot of our clients are like family to us. To those of you who don't know Chris and I's own fur-child B had a major accident a few weeks ago and broke her leg. Our lives have been turned upside down with problem after problem, and all we want is for her to get better. I'm sure most of you pet parents can understand how devastating these things can be. Most of you also know that we're in tough times right now trying to stay afloat during this pandemic. We don't necessarily have any expectations, but we thought it couldn't hurt to ask for some help. If all we end up with is more positive thoughts and prayers for our girl, that's ok with us too! Thanks everyone!

Training Class!! Did you recently adopt a puppy who needs some training? Or even an older dog who doesn't come when you call, or maybe they don't walk nicely on a leash? We weren't able to host a class in the spring like we wanted due to the pandemic, but we're finally able to put one together now! There's no definite start date yet, but as soon as possible. It's a six week course that meets once per week for an hour. Our trainer, Bob, would like to host a class Friday nights... at 6pm. It costs $250 for the whole class. Some Pet Resort Updates! **Yes we're open! We've been open this whole time. Everything runs like normal except we have limited staff answering the phones. If you leave a message we'll get back to you ASAP! **Normally by now we have a wait list going for summer reservations, but with the pandemic we still have lots of availability. Of course July 4th is very popular and for some reason the end of July/beginning of August is very busy!... **Please don't forget to call us if you need to cancel your reservation! Since our business has been running like normal, our policies are still the same. **Closing in November: due to Covid we decided not close for the whole week in November as originally planned. 2020 Closing Dates: It looks like from now on we're going to be closing down the resort twice every year; once in the spring and once in the fall. The dates will always be posted months in advance so be on the lookout! This year these are the dates we will be closed: **March 9 - March 12 (Mon - Thurs)**... November 2 - November 8 (Mon - Sun) (Please don't panic if you already have a reservation booked during those March dates - there will still be employees here to take care of your animals, we just decided not to take on anymore reservations at this point.) Holiday Update!!: **Thanksgiving: Completely booked and wait list started **Christmas: 6 spots remaining... Each year we book up further and further in advance, especially for holidays and summer vacation. We can't stress enough how important it is to book things as far in advance as possible! This year in particular we're not 100% sure how many rooms in the addition we will be opening yet for Thanksgiving and Christmas since it's all new to us (it depends on staffing). This past summer we did officially open our new addition! This new wing will be utilized seasonally, but primarily over the summer. We decided it's time to post some updated photos of the place so customers can get a better idea about how we function around here. Highland Pet Resort is a cage-free facility so all dogs and cats get their own rooms which vary in size/price. The rooms are essentially empty, but we encourage people to bring things from home so your pets can be as... comfortable as possible. (So I'm posting empty rooms as well as occupied rooms). Our goal is to provide as much of a stress free environment as possible, and that's why included in our price is a walk or play time every 2 hours throughout the day. You do NOT have to pay per walk. Trying to help a friend find homes for her 2 ferrets. The only reason why she can't keep them is because she's extremely allergic to them. Koda (left) is a female and Oliver (right) is a male. They are both 2 years old and extremely friendly. They like to play with kids, dogs, and cats. They would come fully loaded. Let us know if you're interested!

Looking for some towels! If anyone has any used bath towels or pool towels that they are wanting to let go of - we can use them. Storm Update: To all of our clients who have their pets boarding here today, everyone is safe! The storm didn't seem to hit our area nearly as bad as some of the surrounding areas. Just wind, rain, lightning and thunder.. NO hail! (yay). Power is on for now at least, and the worst of the storm seems to be over. We laid out a plan in case there is/was a tornado :) All is well!

We think it's about time for another "giveaway!!" Spring Update! I'm sure we're all very excited that spring it finally here it seems haha. Just want to give everyone a few reminders as they start to plan their spring and summer vacations: 1) It's never too early to book! Please call us as soon as possible with vacation dates or there's a good chance we may not have room for your pets. For some reason the last week in April is extremely popular so we have very limited availability left as of today.... 2) For summer vacations: if you prefer our indoor/outdoor rooms, be forewarned that for the entire summer there are very few indoor/outdoor rooms left available. 3)We're very excited about all of the progress that's been made on our addition that we're building, however it will not be ready to utilize this summer unfortunately. We're thinking maybe by fall of this year - we'll keep you updated! Very Important!!: Highland Pet Resort will be completely closed from 11/1/18 - 11/11/18, no daycare or boarding. Please mark your calendars! We're going to be placing a sign up in the lobby to remind everyone. Please call us today with any questions or to make any reservations (845) 834-3833.
