Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 30.04.2021

Available American Oberhasli buckling born 3/11 he will be registered with ADGA Dam - Hillaire Farm Carla Exceed Sire - Haycreeks Sandman Orion... This buckling is long, powerful and very correct. He is built just like his sire. His sire was on the young sire development program list. Orion’s sire’s twin was the 2018 national champion. This buck kid’s dam was pretty as a first freshener, unfortunately she died before she could really show us how beautiful her udder was going to be in her second freshening. Carla was a deep, powerful doe who was as wide as they come. He has been disbudded and has had his first dose of CDT our herd is tested clean. PM for more details Located in Fort Montgomery NY

It had to happen eventually, but it doesn’t make it any easier. Today we said goodbye to Hillaire Farm Carla Exceed. Carla was the first kid to be born on our farm and the first kid to have our farm name, our first retained doe kid on the farm and unfortunately the first girl to remind us that this is farming and farming isn’t easy. Carla freshened with beautiful buck/ doe twins a couple weeks ago. After freshening she slowly went off feed and was acting off. After fight...ing trying to figure out what was wrong we finally figured out it was pneumonia. These big temperature swings were just too hard on her. We moved Carla into the house and treated her, she was responding well, heck yesterday we were celebrating her eating a little and drinking and even pooping, we thought she was on her way to recovery. Today she lost her fight, although Carla may not have been an amazing show goat, she was still our gorgeous big girl with a lot going on for her. It’s never easy saying goodbye to livestock but it happens to us all eventually. Thank you Brandi Giachino Jessica Miller Nathan and Jennifer Funk and everyone else who was by our side giving us advice and encouragement as we fought so hard for Carla! I truly can’t thank you enough. So God made a farmer. See more

And to think, last year when she was a little kid we had her listed for sale. Thankfully I had a couple friends reach out and tell me I was nuts for selling her and we decided to listen and retain her. I can’t thank Kirt and Brandi and I’m sure Nate for asking me why I’d sell her! Hillaire Farm Sapphire Minerva is a one year old first freshener. Udder pictures are today at 7 days fresh body picture is pre freshening. We absolutely cannot wait to get this doe in the show ring!

***Now available, semen from Haycreeks Sandman Orion.*** Orion is our one and a half year old buck that we brought in in 2019. Orion is a very correct buck and passes it on to his kids. We only used Orion on two does last year and we got a beautiful doe kid and two buck kids that were so nice we sold them as junior herd sire’s. He transmitted his style very well to his kids. Orion was on the 2019 ADGA Young Sire Development Program list and has a pedigree to match his lo...oks. His sire *B Haycreeks Kane Enter Sandman FS90EEV is an Elite buck and Sandman’s twin Haycreeks Kane Stradivaria 92EEEE was the 2018 national show champion and best udder. His dam Haycreeks Sonic Oaks appraised VVEE 88 as a first freshener. Oaks is a deep bodied doe who is powerful, uphill and has great feet and legs as well. Oaks did have a case of mastitis this year, but her mammary system is still lovely! We opened up driveway breedings and AI for Orion this year and he has bred numerous does in hopes of proving him out faster. https://www.adgagenetics.org/GoatDetail.aspx **Straws were collected with excellent post thaw motility by Half Barn Farm and are located there for the time being. Available for 5/150** This would make the perfect Christmas present for that special Oberhasli breeder in your life Pictures of sire, dam and aunt courtesy of Haycreek Farm.

Hillaire Farm Turn The Page. This doe kid is impressive. Not the best picture of her, but we know what we have here and are absolutely loving it. This March kid is bred to Ober-Boerd Vosegus. All reservations are filled.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Hillaire Farm of Scott’s Circle

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 25.10.2020

We’ve been slacking on our #octOBER posts, tonight’s feature is an experimental March kid who is pretty stunning. Hillaire Farm Sapphire Minerva also known as Minerva or TK was once listed on here for sale. As soon as we posted her listing I got messages from a few friends telling me I was crazy for listing her. One of which was Kirt Schnipke. So we took a closer look at TK (stands thanks Kirt) and realized we needed to make some cuts to keep her in our barn. Minerva is out of our herd queen The Onyx’s Gemstone and boy does she look a lot like momma which is a great thing! Minerva is long and level and DEEP for her age. She has wonderful feet and legs and a beautiful wide rump. Minerva was bred to Ober-Boerd Vosegus this year and we can’t wait to see those kids hit the ground!

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 14.10.2020

This time last week none of our does had been bred.... fast forward to today and all of them have been bred! Today’s is probably our most exciting of the year! Hillaire Farm Turn The Page (Orion daughter) was bred to Ober-Boerd Vosegus! Page is a super correct March kid. She is long, has a flat top line, nice feet and legs and oozes dairyness. Vosegus has amazing general appearance and has awesome udders behind him as well! **first doe kid is retained, all other reservations have been filled on this pairing**

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 11.10.2020

Well... looks like does covered in buck scent is all I needed to kick these girls into heat! This morning our junior doe Hillaire Farm Sapphire Minerva was bred to Ober-Boerd Vosegus! This is the first breeding Vos has had on our farm and we absolutely can’t wait to see what he does to our mammaries and general appearance! Minerva aka TK is a March kid, we planned to wait until the last week of october but she is PLENTY big! Minerva has a wonderful top line, brisket, feet a...nd legs and has a wonderfully wide rump. This pairing should be phenomenal. **First doe kid retained all others available, doe kids will be american buck kids will be experimental.**

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 02.10.2020

We’re on a roll now! Two does bred this week! It’s #octOBER and Hillaire Farm Carla Exceed was just bred to Haycreeks Sandman Orion. This is a repeat breeding from last year. Last year Carla gave us twin bucks, we’re thinking pink on this one. First doe kid retained all other reservations are open on this one. These kids should come out long, wide and powerful! We’re pretty excited to see the results from this one again!

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 19.09.2020

Today’s #octOBER highlight is a breeding that just happened! The Onyx’s Gemstone (experimental) was bred to Haycreeks Sandman Orion. Gem is our herd queen and at 7 years old this girl still looks awesome. Gem is super dairy with a still very well attached udder, she is long and has wonderful feet and legs and a great rump width among many other things. This year we retained a beautiful doeling from Gem sired by The Khalifas TormundGiantsbane. To say we’re excited to see a kid sired by Orion from Gem would be an understatement. We will be retaining a doe kid from Gem (think pink) all other kids will be available. Bucks and Does will be experimental.

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 02.09.2020

Today’s #octOBER highlight is Hillaire Farm Carla Exceed. Carla is a 2 year old first freshener who gave us two gorgeous buck kids this spring by Haycreeks Sandman Orion. Carla is our biggest doe in the herd (who may need a diet) she’s deep, powerful and has nice feet and legs underneath her. We think with another freshening she’ll be something to contend with in the show ring. First picture is her dry. We’ll be breeding her to Haycreeks Sandman Orion again and will be crossing our fingers for a doe kid.

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 15.08.2020

Ok it’s silly I know.... but get hyped!

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 13.08.2020

Those Sunday vibes. There’s three goats in this picture . All three are March kids and man are they getting big!

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 24.07.2020

It’s #octOBER !!! Which means periodically throughout the month we will be highlighting our American Oberhasli and Experimental Oberhasli type goats. We figured we’d start the month out strong. Today’s feature is Hillaire Farm Turn The Page. Page is a March doe kid who has wonderful length, levelness of topline, width of rump and wonderful legs and feet underneath her. Page is out first daughter from Haycreeks Sandman Orion and boy did he stamp this kid with flash and dairyness! Page will be bred to Ober-Boerd Vosegus this month. All reservations are filled on the pairing, but the rest of our breedings are wide open. Fun fact, Hillaire Farm Turn The Page is named after the Metallica song, her sire Haycreeks Sandman Orion was named after the Metallica song Orion.

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 13.07.2020

***semen available! Haycreeks Sandman Orion is in the tank!** Orion semen is available for $150/5 straws. Collected by Half Barn Genetics. Haycreeks Sandman Orion was on the 2019 ADGA Young Sire Development list and as a yearling this year looks absolutely wonderful. When you think about how daughters are supposed to be an improvement on their dam, Orion’s kids are just that! Orion is out of VVEE 88 (first freshener score) Haycreeks Sonic Oaks by (Elite buck) FS 90EEV Hay...creeks Kane Enter Sandman (Littermate to the 2018 National Champion Oberhasli). PM for more details. Located in Fort Montgomery NY https://www.adgagenetics.org/GoatDetail.aspx (Pictures of Sire, Dam and Aunt courtesy of Haycreek Farm)

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 30.06.2020

Ok ok ok I hear you Gem! You want a date with Orion, but you’ll have to wait until your next cycle! We’re not sure who’s louder, Gem in heat or the Nigerians just being loud

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 20.06.2020

Annndddd that’s a wrap! Done milking for the year! We kept the two Nigerians in milk to help with feeding our new addition her bottle. Mary Mack got her last bottle tonight and the girls are going to be dried off! They’ve been on once a day milking for almost a month so they should be fine with it.

Hillaire Farm of Scott's Circle 07.06.2020

I’m really happy how my boys are looking as they start the rut (and boy have they started ). First picture is 1 1/2 year old Haycreeks Sandman Orion second picture is our junior herd sire Ober-Boerd Vosegus. I think both these boys are going to compliment each other rather well!
