Historic Palmyra, Historically Haunted

Very special announcement! We are opening up spots for an investigation on the anniversary of the night of the tragic fire on the property where the Palmyra Historical Museum stands. We have never done an investigation like this before and so this is a very special opportunity. On Dec. 20, 1964 at 2 a.m., a fire swept through the home of the Breeden family at 132 Market St. The tragic incident would be remembered for years to come, and is still remembered by many today. The f...ire took the life of the 25-year-old mother, Anna Ruth Breeden, and her 6 children Marion, Eddy Edward, Dennis, Sharon, Susan, Mitchell, and Samuel. The children’s ages spanned from 2 to 8. The 1826 building that houses the Historic Museum sits directly over the foundation of the home of the Breedens. As a result, staff, investigators, and guests alike frequently report experiences with the six children and mother, that still make their presence known to this day. Historic Palmyra hangs stocking for the family in the museum every year as the anniversary of the tragic Christmas-season fire approaches. We are holding a small investigation in the early hours of Dec. 20 (the night between Dec. 19 and 20) from midnight to 3 a.m. and we are opening 5 spots for guests to join our Executive Director and Deputy Director for this investigation. Each spot is $40 and if first come first serve. This is a very special opportunity to investigate along side our staff, who hold an intimate relationship with the spirits here and their stories, and to investigate on the very night that this tragedy happened 56 years ago. PIT CRU here for a Saturday investigation!

It's always so nice to have new investigators come to visit! This is a picture that was taken at the end of the hall in the Sampson area. It looks like it's a large shadow figure. We are trying to "clean it up" to get a better idea of who this might be. "Thank you Tracy, and all the spirits at Haunted Palmyra! Group of 4 Investigators got a lot of flashlight activity and responding noises when asked. The Phelps store was " alive" with spirit activity! Great job Jamie, Jessie Carder, David and Nate!
