WHAT’S NEW IN THE AER eLEARNING CENTER The HKNC presentation, "Haptic Communication to Facilitate Braille Instruction with Deaf-Blind Adults" is now listed on AER’s eLearning Center. The presentation by Megan Conway, Peggy Costello and Deb Harlin was sent to AER last summer when their convention was cancelled due to COVID-19. . #EmployeeSpotlight Meet Scott Davert, our Technology, Research, and Innovation Center (TRIC) Coordinator. Within HKNC, he has worked as a senior instructor in t...he Adaptive Technology (AT) Department, served as a regional representative for the Rocky Mountain area, was the coordinator of the New York DeafBlind Equipment Distribution Program, and represented the agency as part of the Disability Advisory Committee. Scott has always been passionate about braille, technology and using technology to increase the independence of individuals who are DeafBlind. Now, he is very excited to initiate a program that offers short term training, Train-the-Trainers seminars, improve relationships with companies, evaluate DeafBlind consumer products and more.
