Soooo, I had a lot of trouble choosing a picture for my last post of 2020. I had half a mind to post a middle finger, but that takes away from all the good things this year has given me. Don’t get me wrong - 2020 has sucked so much worse than I ever thought 365 days could. I have lost friends, neighbors and loved ones and not been able to mourn those losses. We closed the year with a flood on Christmas Day. Yep, seriously. But 2020 has also taught me so much - patience, kin...dness, flexibility. How to make the best out of a bad situation. It has brought my family closer together than ever before. It has brought new friends in to my life. And, the Catskills have offered sanctuary to so many. I know that no matter what happens in 2021, many of you will always have your heart in the Catskills. So, join us one last time in 2020 today from 10-6. We have lots of good stuff in the shop and a few deliveries headed our way. And you 2020.

Happy Christmas Eve! Man you guys, what a year it has been. I just want to express my gratitude, especially to these two humans (my parents) and my hubby for being there all year. Seriously could not have done this without their support! The plan is to be open 10-4 today. However, the weather may dictate that we need to close a bit earlier. We are fully stocked and have some hams, turkeys and racks of lamb still available as well as tons of veggies, fruits, milk and some br...ead. See your lovely masked faces soon!

Did you know that we’re open today? And, every day this week, except New Years Day? And, this list is only a fraction of the things we have coming in this week. Wednesday will bring loads of cheese and CAVIAR (what, yep, just went there?!?) And, we’ll have all the accompaniments blinis, creme fraiche, spoons, etc. Let’s ring in this new year in style.... Ok folks - holiday proteins arrive today! We have - spiral sliced hams, 12-14lb turkeys, one goose, and a few racks of lamb. All local and pasture raised and not full of nitrates or any other fillers. Also, Wilson's Bread will be here today, along with See and Be and a few other surprises. Update: we dodged a major bullet today. Water has continued to recede. It seems all roads are now passable and we only have about four inches left in the basement. We will be open tomorrow 12-6. Holy forking shirt balls, what a year. Hey folks, just wanted to say Merry Friggin 2020 Covid Christmas. There’s about two feet of water in the basement and it is rising. I don’t think the first floor will be impacted, but the water is rising steadily and it has not stopped raining yet. Not sure what’s what yet, but will keep everyone updated. Hope you all are safe and warm.

One of my favorite parts of this year has been discovering all the super talented people living in these mountains. Let’s talk about 2020 for a minute - it has sucked, hard. It is a year we will never forget and will talk about for generations to come. However, it has been full of joy and beauty and shaking it up. For me, it has been a year of pivoting, rapid expansion and building a wonderful community. I’ve been able to bring in products like these gorgeous Opinel steak knives. Ps they’re super sharp. And, Zojirushi rice cookers and more OXO than I know what to do with. The...re’s also new glassware, candles and a few other surprises in store. So, as 2020 draws to a close, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for teaching me so much, thank you for making me pivot and think on my feet. Thank you for supporting me. Just thank you. I am one grateful shop owner.

It’s Friday! Which only means one thing - it’s bread day! Fresh bagels from Spillian, country loaves from Wilson's Bread, pie from magpies_on_pinkstreet and milk from Clark Farms Creamery. A little behind the scenes photo. This is stacks upon stacks of catalogs I’m picking through and ordering for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Normally, much of this would have been done in March and April, which obviously didn’t happen this year. So, now there are early morning and late night ordering sessions. Stressing about what I ordered and if it will be available because, warehousing and supply chains in this country are a wreck right now. I’m over ordering from everywhere... planning that I’ll only receive about half of what I ordered. Some things are so back ordered they won’t be available until next year. And, soooo many boxes are arriving at the shop - UPS delivered 30 yesterday, there will be several more days like that in the coming weeks. So, please bear with me through the next few weeks. The shop might be messy, but it will be well stocked.

Is it the ultimate irony that the Year From Hell products arrived in a box looking like it has also been through 2020?

May have gone a little Bundt pan bonkers. But, this also means that all the bakeware is restocked. I sense a long winter of baking projects ahead. Also, today is the day for bread from See and Be and all the produce from local farmers. See your masked faces 11-6!

Alrighty - we’re experiencing some October miracles over here! First, Chemex finally made its way here! Second, soda stream shipped today and should be here by the end of the week. Ok guys, so I may have gone a little wild on the produce this week! Soooo much good stuff - radicchio (two kinds!), local leeks, carrots Brussels sprouts, baby bok choy, tatsoi, kohlrabi, soooo many mushrooms all the cauliflower, so many apples , first of the season pears , all the squash and soooo much more. Plus, we have oodles of fresh eggs , milk and cream will be here this afternoon. magpies_on_pinkstreet will be here about 12 with her amazing apple pies and Wilson's Bread too! With all the craziness in the world, I thought I would veer away and share a pretty picture from the shop, which got a little refresh this past weekend. I’ve been on an ordering binge the past couple of days and there are oodles of good things coming to the shop in the coming weeks. But, I forgot my food order last night, so while I have lots of good stuff currently in the shop and stuff arriving from @the607csa, I won’t be fully stocked until tomorrow. Sorry!
