You will learn how to use specific typewriter tools, proper technique, cleaning methods, how to oil and grease a typewriter, how to refinish a platen, how to wind your own ribbon..... and much much more. Maker Faire Sept 23, 2017. Maker Faire is the Greatest Show(& Tell) on Earth. Its a family-Friendly festival of invention, creativity and resoursefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. With over 750 makers participating and some 100,00 patrons attending over 2 days and its a really fun event. Hometown Business Machines Michael Ardito along with their Makerspace 'Steam Wagon' of Staten Island, NY showcasing the Underwood Master, also known as the1939 Worlds Fair typewriter. The Underwood Elliott Fisher Company were promoting the typewriter here on these very fair grounds in the 1939-1940 NY Worlds Fair with a 14 ton working replica.
