I’m half Italian, half Black, but I grew up with the Black side of my family. So my struggle with my identity for a long time has been me not feeling ‘Black enough.’ But I’m learning that at the end of the day it truly does not matter what other people think about that. "Cultivating Black Joy for me means assisting in someone else’s Joy. I enjoy being that support system. What also gives me Joy is seeing Black people in spaces that are traditionally occupied by white bodies.... When I see Black people being like: Actually No, this is for everyone. I’m here, and I’m doing it, and it matters -- that, for me, is everything.
