Members- For your Awareness Official statement on ATF Pistol Brace notice** The BATFE (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) recently released information on how they will be determining the legality of Pistol Stabilizing Braces and whether they should fall within the National Firearms Act. There are countless concerning angles to this topic, but we will try to get straight to the point. The most recent notice outlines criteria that are judged purely on subject...ive determinations as opposed to definitive statements that clearly identify what does or does not constitute a legal configuration of a braced firearm. This leaves both firearms manufacturers and owners at the mercy of ad hoc judgement of the BATFE. It allows for case by case determinations by individual agents in which no manufacturer or gun owner, let alone the agent themselves, can reasonably know what is legal or illegal. Aero Precision does not agree or support this type of re-interpretation in which millions of law-abiding gun owners can be affected, and worst case, turned in to criminals at no action of their own. This could also have a lasting and catastrophic impact on the firearms industry and American businesses like Aero Precision. Thousands of jobs will be lost and the estimated economic impact to our industry eclipses 1 billion dollars over the next year alone. We urge you to review the BATFE’s most recent proposal, get informed, and take immediate action. What can I do? 1. First and foremost, visit the link below and comment by January 4, 2021. This topic is currently open for comment on the Federal Register. It has been conveniently opened for comment over the holiday season and is a very short 14 day window. SHARE this information with everyone you know. This determination has an impact well outside Pistol Stabilizing Braces. It affects us all. 3. Write your local and state representatives and tell them you do not support this type of action. 4. Greetings- just a reminder that we are coming into the Rifle/Pistol League season. Please be aware of the scheduled practice times for each which are posted by the range entry door. Most often neither team minds if you free shoot but understand it is their practice time. a 45cal going off while someone is practicing precision shooting can be disruptive. If no one is using the range- you are free to use it. If someone from either team comes in (during scheduled practice times) they probably wont ask you to leave but lets be courteous. And again- 22 cal and no FMJ. Handguns ONLY- no pistol caliber carbine rifles!!! Thanks all

THIS IS WHY WE PREACH GUN SAFETY: Post Star: WARRENSBURG The town is mourning the death of Charles xxxx, who died on Saturday. Charles who lived in Bolton, died around 4:45 p.m. at his hunting camp on xxxx Road in xxxxxx. He was removing his rifle from the back of his car when it fired, striking him in the abdomen, according to Saratoga County Sheriff’s Capt. Jeffrey Brown.... The cause was accidental, Brown said. Charles, 48, was a lifelong resident of the area....................... Removed the deceased name and additional details. Questions Unknown: Why did he have a loaded firearm in his vehicle? Why did he have a loaded rifle during muzzleloading season? (maybe he was going/coming to sight it in???) This is a preventable accident. Please be safe> No loaded firearms until you are afield Store ammunition separately Lock firearms so others can not access Travel with firearms in a protective case these are simple steps to take- Charles would be alive today if he practiced what he learned in Hunter Ed. We are sadden for the families loss.

Greetings All we are putting together an exciting new program for our Members: Speaker Series. We are looking for qualified speakers on any outdoor topic to do presentations about their expertise. Topics can be anything outdoor related; fly fishing, Self Guided hunts, Living off the land, canoe building- almost anything. Would limit the number of attendees due to C-19. Proper safety precautions/procedures will be followed. Presentations should be in the 45-60min range. Visual aids highly recommended. Looking at holding one per month but certainly open if the demand is there. Indoor firearm range will be closed: Nov 8th (1pm-6pm) and Nov 9 (6pm-9pm) for a continuing education class.

SOLD OUT Education Committee is pleased to announce NRA's Personal Protection in the Home class: (Members Only) being offered to help you have the knowledge, skills and attitude to defend your home. You should have some handgun experience before taking this course. You will learn about New York State law from the Washington County District Attorney and you will shoot about 100 cartridges. Please bring a handgun you are familiar with and 100 cartridges of NON JACKETED or 22... cal practice ammo. Class will be on Sunday November 8 from 1:30 to 6:00 PM. Class will continue on Monday November 9 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Cost of course is $90.00. Class is limited to 10. Greetings All- very pleased to announce the creation of our Education Committee. Bill Cole has graciously stepped up to Chair this. He holds numerous NRA certifications and is a Master Instructor . Bill will be responsible for organizing, scheduling and overseeing our continuing education classes such as the recently held NRA Shotgun and RSO courses and upcoming Dont be a Victim class. We have seen a very large increase in the number of women who have taken Hunter Ed and are looking to hunt. If you are one of them, and would like a mentor, please let us know. We can find you a skilled hunter in the chosen game you'd like to hunt.
