We sent 700 pieces of hand sanitizer and an additional 5 gallons to the Hudson Valley Red Cross the other day. I asked the executive director Kelly Formoso what can the community do to help the Red Cross. She explained to me that blood donation is essential to ensuring the health of our communities. Everyday patients rely on lifesaving blood transfusions including those who need surgery, victims of accidents or people suffering from cancer . Today I had the honor of meeting Frankie Flowers and delivering hand sanitizer to him. Frankie is the son of the late John Flowers. John was a Poughkeepsie community leader who gave so much of himself to the people of his community. His son Frankie is following his father’s legacy . Frankie and his volunteers are helping to provide 250 families with food and other necessities during this crisis. Please remember many people cannot stock up. Today is my daughter Kristen’s 24 Birthday. A few weeks ago she was planning an exciting weekend with her friends. Today she is working at Vassar Hospital as a nurse. We are proud of her as she willingly goes to the front lines to protect us all. To all of our health care workers, grocery workers, delivery people we thank you all. Be safe and please everyone be kind to those who are serving us now.

Hand sanitizer is not a substitute and is only for when you cannot actually wash your hands. Protect yourself , your loved ones and society . This is your civic and moral duty! Think of all of the hard things our ancestors and other people in this world have gone thru and have survived. We can meet this challenge and beat this....But first WASH those hands!!

We have suspended our production in order to make hand sanitizer for our community. The wonderful people at Publick House (in Pleasant Valley, NY) are distributing bagged lunches for families in need. You can also pick up a bottle of our hand sanitizer there. We will be dropping off more in other locations. PLEASE take one only !!! Everyone stay well and please take this seriously. If anyone is need please message us. We cannot ship, you have to pick it up.

What to do if you cannot get to a sink to wash your hands and the store is out of hand wipes ? Make your own!! 1) fill a bowl with about 2 cups of water. 2) add about one quarter cup of rubbing alcohol (if you don’t have it use white vinegar 3) add 1 tablespoon of dawn detergent. Mix well. Neatly fold some paper towels into the mixture and wring them out. You can place these in a zip lock bag and clean your hands with them in an emergency. Stay well everyone, we will get thru this.

It might take some getting used to, but if we use solid bars we can reduce our plastic usage.
