Wishing our families and friends who celebrate a Happy Easter!
On Saturday afternoon Huntington Manor firefighters were called to Huntington High School for a Medevac landing. Members of the Huntington Community First Aid Squad stabilized and transported a pedestrian who had been struck on nearby North Street. The person was flown to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Good luck to our local MLB teams as they begin their seasons today!
Today is National First Responders Day! Thank you to all our Police Officers, Firefighters and E.M.S. responders for your sacrifices and service!
Proud of our Junior Firefighters who teamed up with Veterans from American Legion Greenlawn Post 1244 to clean up Long Swamp Cemetery this morning. Volunteers also assembled two benches and reinstalled a sign that had fallen. Graves in the Cemetery date back to the American Revolutionary War. The Juniors also got a history lesson on the role Long Island played during the war. The Cemetery is located on Barkers Lane in Huntington Station. A great job by all involved!
Happy 245th Birthday to the United States Navy! Thank you to all of those whom have served and those who continue to do so!
Huntington Manor firefighters were dispatched to a report of a Motor Vehicle Collision with persons trapped on Holdsworth Drive and Oakwood Road on Monday afternoon. Chief Jon Hoffman arrived first on scene an advised he had two cars that would need a "door pop". As crews from Huntington Community First Aid Squad stabilized the drivers, firefighters from Rescue 11 used the jaws of life to open both drivers doors. Both drivers were transported to Huntington Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Strong work by all involved!

A rare picture of our two antique trucks. On the left is 2-4-2 our 1950 Mack. On the right is 2-4-1 our 1947 Mack. Both trucks were first due pumpers back in their day! Great trucks!
Huntington Manor firefighters were honored to welcome home one of our own tonight as Patrick Brady (U.S.M.C.) returned from a 10 month deployment overseas. Patrick is the son of 1st Assistant Chief Chuck Brady, Jonna (Dix Hills Fire Department) and brother of Manor firefighter Anthony. Welcome home brother! Thank you for your service to your community and country!
To our families, friends and neighbors who celebrate L' shanah Tovah!
Today we pause to remember F.D.N.Y. Rescue 4 Firefighter and Huntington Manor Chief Peter A. Nelson. Your service and sacrifice are not forgotten. October 7, 1958 - September 11, 2001.

Hard to believe you have been gone 11 years Rev. On September 9, 2009 at 03:02 A.M. Huntington Manor Chaplin and Fire Police Captain Richard " Rev" Holst was returning home from a previous alarm when he noticed smoke emanating from the Uber Café, a bagel store on Depot Road. After calling in the fire to the dispatcher , Rich did a size up of the building and checked the adjoining business that were open for occupants. As units began arriving on the scene, Rich collapsed, suffering a fatal heart attack. Rev you are truly missed at Huntington Manor and not forgotten. Thank you for your service .
As our children head back to school this week, use caution when approaching schools and bus stops. Remember it is ILLEGAL to pass a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing or stop sign out!
