I Fill Inkjets

Early EARTH DAY thoughts -- Waste reduction efforts start in the wrong place. Our efforts need to start with reducing the initial creation of excess new items. Studies show returns, excess inventory and over bought items eventually end up in landfills, still in packaging never used. ... Add to this another step REUSE - defer buying new. Now that's a plan to reduce waste!

Last year at this time I introduced a doors locked/ no contact/ drop box only ink refilling service with the goal to donate my time and breakeven. I was extrem...ely worried about the future of mom & pop ownership and environmental priorities taking a back seat to the pandemic. While Refills are down 25%; breakeven was accomplished and 150 inkjets are refilled monthly. These modest numbers encourage REUSE and save Bethlehem consumers money. These same consumers care about supporting local businesses trying to succeed. I still worry about survival and the REUSE tactic success but I can see that little grass root steps and community support are present around me & my goals. Thanks to all.

I support a nonprofit; Jajjaskids.org as Treasurer. Founded in 2008 they have built a home for 20 Uganda children; also providing clothing, food, education and medical support.
