We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Rochester Regional Health is announcing one of our most ambitious urban renewal projects to date - the transformation of the long-abandoned Macy’s building in the former Medley Center in Irondequoit. Renovations begin next week to create a new, expanded space for the Isabella Graham Hart School of Practical Nursing and the future RRH College of Health Careers. Nurses of every discipline and degree level are in high demand. Roche...ster Regional is committed to ensuring a clear, navigable path to training and education across the nursing education spectrum, beginning with the LPN program and continuing through our new registered nurse (RN) program (pending NYS approval). The IGH School of Practical Nursing, currently located at the Wegman Center for Workforce Development on Portland Avenue, will welcome 310 students this fall - our largest class ever. Let me just say that I didn't realize how emotional this would be for me. As I was taking a knee, I was consumed by the thought of someone subdued for almost 9 minutes with a knee pressed in their neck- struggling to breathe and begging to be released. I couldn't stop the tears.

As a member of our Rochester Regional Health team, we joined health care professionals all across the United States in kneeling for nine minutes of silent reflection on the urgent need to end racism as a threat to the health, safety, and well-being of people of color. #WhiteCoatsBlackLives #IsabellaGrahamHart #RochesterRegionalHealth #LPN
