For many with mobility impairments or limited sight, safe and affordable autonomous or self-driving cars would be the answer to a prayer. Our friends in the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) have informed us that input from wheelchair users on the development of these vehicles is being solicited, and passed along this invitation: CRUISE SELF-DRIVING CAR SURVEY FOR WHEELCHAIR USERS Cruise is a self-driving car company based in San Francisco owned by General Motors.... We are developing ride-sharing and delivery services that will be accessible to all. We’re seeking anonymous feedback from people who use wheelchairs to inform and improve products. The aide must have her own transportation as the consumer would need rides to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and errands. Meal preparation and light housework is also needed.
