On March 30th, 2021, Ilion Police arrested Joshua A. Gantz (33) of Ilion, NY and charged him with the following: - Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Misdemeanor) The arrest stems from an investigation into and incident that occurred on March 19th, 2021 while on West Main Street in Ilion. Gantz was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Ilion Court at a later date and time.

On March 17th, 2021, Ilion Police arrested a 15 year old juvenile male and charged him with the following: Criminal Mischief 4th Degree - Misdemeanor Assault 3rd Degree - Misdemeanor Resisting Arrest - Misdemeanor... Menacing 3rd Degree - Misdemeanor Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd Degree - Misdemeanor The juvenile male was released and referred to Herkimer County Family Court and is due to appear at the Herkimer County Probation Department at a later date and time.

On March 15th, 2021, the Ilion Police Department arrested Candace R. Machnica (35) of Johnstown, NY and charged her with the following: Driving While Intoxicated - Misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated with BAC of .08% or greater - Misdemeanor... Machnica was released to a third party on Uniform Traffic Tickets to appear in the Village of Ilion Court at a later date and time.

On Monday, February 22nd, 2021, Ilion Police arrested Tina M. Sheffler (57) of Ilion NY. Sheffler was charged with the following: Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree - Misdemeanor Sheffler was released on appearance tickets to appear in the Village of Ilion Court at a later date and time.

On February 19th, 2021, Ilion Police arrested George P. Maine (21) of Frankfort, NY and charged him with the following: Driving While Intoxicated - Misdemeanor Driving with a BAC of .08% of 1% or More of Alcohol - Misdemeanor Improper Right Turn at Intersection - Violation... Unlicensed Operator - Violation Maine was released to a third party on Uniform Traffic Tickets and is schedule to appear in the Village of Ilion Court at a later date and time.

****Update on Boil Water Advisory*** The Boil Water Order for all Village of Ilion Water Users has been lifted!!

****UPDATE ON BOIL WATER *** The boil water advisory is still in effect, ONLY for the following areas: Columbia Parkway, the areas East of Steele Creek & South of Frederick Street.

Water Main Break UPDATE: The water main break has been repaired and all water should be turned back on for residents at this time. We will continue to be under a Boil Water Advisory until further notice.

Ilion Police will be participating in the DEA National Prescription take back on Saturday, October 24, 2020 between 10am and 2pm. Because of COVID-19 guidelines and regulations, our collection site will offer the public a safer and convenient opportunity by use of a drive thru window. Follow the signs and enter the municipal building parking lot entrance on Morgan Street.... The initiative provides the public with the opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. We cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps, only pills or patches. The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.

Arrest Notifications: On March 16, 2019 Ilion Police arrested Roberta Kaples (50) of Mohawk NY for Driving While Intoxicated. Kaples was issued uniform traffic tickets and was released to a third party. She is due to appear in the Village of Ilion Court at a later date and time. Update: The owner, who was searching for the dog has been located. Everyone’s assistance is greatly appreciated. Ilion Police are looking for the owner of this tired German Shepard that led officers on a lengthy chase but was secured with the assistance of several amazing bystanders. The dog is cooling down in the air conditioning now awaiting the dog control officer but it would be happier to get back home....
