In honor of National siblings day, today we celebrate the unique bond between Anyuta and me. We are more than sisters and co-founders of Inaya; we are each other's soulmates and the closest of friends. We often joke that we are like twins who were born four years apart. Going into business together 19 years ago was a natural decision for us since we have always been very close and rarely got sick of each other's company. I remember sharing a tiny bed when we were kids and mak...ing plans in tiny whispers about our life once we immigrate to NY from the Soviet Union. We kept the promises we made as kids to stick together and do something magical. Our trust in one another is rock solid, and as individuals, we lead knowing that we are never alone in facing difficulties. It's a gift to have a person who is always rooting for you and tells you the truth, even if it's not what you want to hear. We constantly check each other's egos and hold each other accountable. We do fight, though we settle it quickly and have the rule to let it go once we've called "a thing a thing." We have been privileged to have a chance to travel and enjoy the most beautiful places, to build a business we love, and to bring up our babies and support each other's journey as mothers. Being sisters is our biggest superpower and source of creativity and joy. We would love to hear your sibling story.
