ICP 24.01.2021

On January 6th, multiple alumni of ICP’s One-Year Certificate Program were at the United States Capitol in Washington, DC on assignment. This 10 week course with renowned portrait photographer Deborah Feingold includes critiques, demonstrations on lighting and composition, and an exploration of what makes a provocative portrait. In March, Jeff Mermelstein was commissioned by ICP as one of five alumni to make work in response to the COVID-19 crisis. He has been photographing the streets on New York City for nearly 40 years, but due to the pandemic, he was forced to photograph pretty much exclusively on the streets of Brooklyn, something he very rarely did before. Mermelstein joins ICP’s Managing Director of Programs David Campany for a three-part lecture series beginning at 1 PM ET to discuss his career and the practice of street photography.
