Today is World Autism Awareness day, April is Autism Awareness Month. In addition to our officers receiving training for how to properly interact with individuals with Autism, we place Autism magnets on all our patrol cars to raise awareness. The Autism Awareness Patch Challenge was started by New Rochelle Detective Christopher Greco and has since gone international. The puzzle pattern of these patches helps visualize the wide Autism spectrum and how wonderfully unique each person is. We proudly place these magnets on our vehicles to support each and every autistic person.
