COVID-19 MEDICAID RECERTIFICATION APPLICATION UPDATE: If you currently are receiving Medicaid coverage and are due for renewal/recertification after March 31, 2020 your Medicaid coverage will automatically be extended for 12 months. The renewal/recertification is not required. If your renewal/recertification was pending, after March 18, 2020, Medicaid cannot be discontinued for a failure to respond to a request for additional documentation.... A family member, who is not ill, can render homecare services to a family member who is a Medicaid beneficiary meeting an institutional level of care and quarantined in the community. COVID-19 MEDICAID APPLICATION UPDATE: New York State has relaxed the rules for submitting a Medicaid application during Covid-19 Pandemic. An application can be filed with proof of citizenship/immigration status and a self- attestation of your assets. A letter stating what your resources/assets and income consist of. There is no requirement to submit all financial documentation. An individual who is later found to be ineligible for the program, based o...n the self-attestation, will keep his/her Medicaid coverage through to the end of the month in which the Public Health emergency ends. IMPORTANT NOTE- A Medicaid Application must be filed with the county, if you are 65 or over or on Medicare, you cannot file it online.
