Growing muscle isn't just about reps and wright. It all comes down to something called "time under tension." It refers to the time your muscles are actually working. Weight, sets, and reps all play a part in the equation. For instance, if you piston out a set of 10 reps your total time under tension was about two seconds. Muscle is not going to grow when your time under tension is really low. Here is a set where we forced the muscle to work for 50 seconds.

Carbs. Do not. Lead. To. Fat gain. An overconsumption of calories does. Aka eating more calories than your body burns. Aka if your total energy expenditure for the day is 2300 calories and you consume 2800 calories. Eating too many carbs may make you gain weight... if you’re eating in a calorie surplus. Yes, the reality of a busy schedule can be a challenge ... But don’t let yourself be fooled into thinking that you should only workout if you have at least an hour available. 2021 is HERE... but where are YOU? A new year does not mean a new you as your problems do not resolve themselves with every new calendar year. What a new year... does mean is that it’s time to set new GOALS. It’s time to sit down and ask yourself, WHERE DO I WANT TO BE!? Where do you want to be in 1 month? Where do you want to be in 6 months? Where do you want to be come next year? These are things that you should be asking yourself over the next few days. They do not need to be tangible desires, as the world does not revolve around having new belongings. These goals can be relationship oriented, physique oriented, mental wellness oriented, achievement oriented or any other number of things. Think long and think hard. Where on earth do you really want to see yourself this year? What would you like to achieve? Once you’ve got these goals laid out, it’s time to PLAN. Plan, execute, and follow through. Hold yourself accountable for all of your actions and inactions. A lack of action and accountability are the main reason goals aren’t achieved. Don’t just visualize in 2021. ACHIEVE.
