Miss okonomiyaki in the restaurants? Why don’t you cook it in your house? Ingredients (2 servings) 100 g flour 3 teaspoons of hondashi (Japanese soup stock)... 1 egg Water (lukewarm water) 120mL 200g of cabbage 100g of pork 15g fried egg okonomiyaki sauce (as you like) mayonnaise (as you like) katsuobushi (as you like) oil to fry okonomiyaki how to make 1 Combine the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. It is better to dissolve the Hon Dashi in water (lukewarm water) once and then add it. 2 Add the coarsely shredded cabbage, chopped pork and fried egg to 1 bowl and mix well. 3 Form 2 in a pan with more oil, shape them into a circle and fry them over low to medium heat. 4 When they are browned, turn them over with a spatula and cook them slowly over low heat until they are cooked through. Do not press down on the top of the pan, as it will harden. 5 When it's done, it's done! You can easily place the plate against the pan and turn the whole pan over to serve. 6 Serve with sauce and mayonnaise and sprinkle with katsuobushi or aonori, if you want ! It's not so difficult than you expected! Let’s try and share us your impression #japanfes #japanese #japan #food #foodstagrm #nyc #foodie #foodstagram #street #streetfair #festival #eaterny #eater #buzzfeed #usa #tasting #tasty #fun #tgif #friday #weekend #saturday #sundayfunday #okonomiyaki #japanesefood

Do you know the difference between dango(dumplings) and rice cakes? Actually... The ingredients are different.... "Mochi" is made from "rice" (grains of rice). "Dango(Dumplings)" are made from "powder" (rice flour). "Mochi" is basically made from glutinous rice! "Dango(Dumplings)" are made mainly from josshin-ko (rice flour), shiratama-ko (rice flour) and dango-ko (dumpling powder). They are similar but have a little different! Which is your favorite? #japanfes #japanese #japan #food #foodstagrm #nyc #foodie #foodstagram #street #streetfair #festival #eaterny #eater #buzzfeed #usa #tasting #tasty #fun #tgif #friday #weekend #saturday #sundayfunday #mochi #dango #welovemochi #mochilovers #omochi #mitarashi #japanesefood

There are so many different kinds of sake ! Sake is firstly divided into two types depending on whether or not brewed alcohol is used. Sake with brewed alcohol is often refreshing and refreshing to drink.... Those that do not contain brewing alcohol have a more pronounced rice flavor. The next category is based on the percentage of rice polished. The smaller the polishing ratio, the more polished the rice is. A Daiginjo that uses only the center of the rice will have a clearer, more uncluttered taste! However, a high milling ratio does not mean that the quality of the rice is lower, but rather that the taste varies according to the ratio. Try to enjoy different types of sake and find the one that suits your taste and palate best! #japanfes #japanese #japan #food #foodstagrm #nyc #foodie #foodstagram #street #streetfair #festival #eaterny #eater #buzzfeed #usa #tasting #tasty #fun #tgif #friday #weekend #saturday #sundayfunday #sake #nihonshu #daiginjo #ginjo #welovesake #japanesefood

Tempura is a well known Japanese dish and especially, Ebi Tempura (shrimp) is so good, right? How about Ebi Fry? Do you know the difference between Ebi Tempura and Ebi Fry? Well, the secret is the battar Tempura batter is made of egg, flour, and ice water and they’re all mixed. You can simply dunk shrimps in the batter... Ebi Fry batter is a little different!! First, you cover shrimps with flour, then dunk it in egg, and cover it with Panko (bread crumbs) at last Now, do you see the difference? Ebi Tempura goes well with noodles such as Udon or Soba, while people usually eat Ebi Fry by itself (I personally love it with Japanese Curry tho) It’s not hard to make them at home!! Chose one (or both?) and try making it #japanfes #japanese #japan #food #foodstagrm #streetfestival #nyc #foodie #foodstagram #streetfair #festival #eaterny #eater #buzzfeed #usa #tasting #tasty #fun #savethedate #ramensquad #weekend #saturday #ebi #tempura #ebitempura #ebifurai #ebifry #friedshrimp #foodtrivia #umamisquare

What's a Castella?? Have you ever heard of "Castella? Castella is a Japanese sponge cake made of sugar, flour and eggs.... The sponge cake is so sweet, so moist, so delicious! Why is it called a Castella ? Let's explore the origin of the name. The origin of the name Castella (1) "The Castilla Kingdom" theory The Kingdom of Castilla was a prosperous kingdom in the central Iberian Peninsula (now Spain) from 1035 to 1715. According to one theory, the name Castella came from the confectionery born there. A Portuguese visitor to Japan asked the Japanese what the confectionery was called, to which they replied, "It's a sponge cake from the Kingdom of Castella" (Bolo de Castella). When the Japanese heard this, they misunderstood the name and called it Castella, and the name spread. The origin of the name Castillo (Spanish for "castle") Another theory is that when making pastries in Spain, they would fatten the meringue up tightly and call out, "Be as tall as a castle. The Spanish word for castle was "Castillo", which stuck in my ears and gave rise to the word "sponge cake". There seem to be many theories about this! These sponge pancakes came from abroad at the time and have been improved to become popular in Japan, and are still a favorite among people of all ages! Let’s try it
