UPCOMING HEALTHY LIVING OFFERINGS AT THE WATERTOWN FAMILY YMCA The YMCA has a diabetes prevention program to help patients reduce their risk of getting Type II Diabetes. The goals of this program are to decrease weight by 7% and increase physical activity to 150 minutes per week. Anyone 18 and over is welcome to register for the upcoming class to begin on April 12, 2021 at 5:30 PM.... The YMCA also has a blood pressure self-monitoring program that was developed to support individuals with Hypertension. Participants in the program will self-monitor and track their blood pressure. This program is designed to help participants lower their blood pressure by following a four month, evidence-based approach that combines key elements of self-monitoring, nutrition education, and individualized support from a trained Healthy Heart Ambassador. Anyone 18 and over is welcome to register. Enrollment is FREE to the first 30 patients and all enrollees receive a free blood pressure cuff. Contact Michelle L. Graham for more information.
