A little sumpthin sumpthin I picked out for a fave client from my fave gallery @culture.object !! #Repost @culture.object with @get_repost #goodthingsof2020 lucky number 13 sold to the sweetest interior designer I know, @jdeinteriordesign who also just happens to be my husband. Thanks to John it now lives in a beautiful home in Greenwich.... This vase is the smaller of two in the same beautiful colorway, made from engineered crystals that are grown on an earthenware vase by the ever curious and intrepid Dutch designer Isaac Monte. The fun of these vases is that they appear almost cynically glam, but knowing the process (mineralizing crystals in a vat of liquid) quickly relocates them into the territory of childhood science experiment on steroids, and happily much more affordable than if they were made from the gems they appear to be. #cultureobject #contemporarydesign #artanddesign #interiordesign #appliedarts #collectibledesign

Swoon! One of my favorite graal glass vessels from Morgan Person, through Cultur Object, that unfortunately got away from me! #Repost @culture.object with @get_repost With the end of the first month of 2021 I am wrapping up #goodthingsof2020 with the vase that got more love last year than any other. ... Made by Morgan Person, it was an outlier in his solo show last year the only non-Graal vase. He only made a few pieces in this expressive style and refused to part with one which is still in his studio in Sweden. It began when I had to fight my husband @jdeinteriordesign away from it to keep him from bringing it home. It subsequently was drooled over by just about everyone who saw it featured in the center of the exhibition. It went out 'on approval' no fewer than three times and found it's way onto 7 client proposals in a 3 month period before landing a loving home in the Hamptons courtesy of @wesleymooninc It was never 'rejected' per se, several clients expressed great sadness that it simply didn't fit the space. Such is the nature of finding the perfect object for a space - and I complicate things by offering about 450 unique pieces at any given time. I never worried about this beauty though. Fridays are for chillin! I’ll be spending a fair amount of time right here on the sectional sofa I designed for myself, hubs and dogs with my feet up on the ottoman of my design. I’ve learned over the years the importance of comfort in a room’s design. It’s not enough to look good, it’s got to feel good too.
