The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that the following dashboard permits will go on sale beginning January 1st for the upcoming 2021 season: 4x4 Fishing, 4x4 Surfing, Stargazing, Night/Sport Fishing, Camp Hero Fishing, Nighttime Photography, and Regional SCUBA-Diving. Applications will only be accepted via online submission through DocuSign or Drop-box, there will be no in-person sales. All permits will be mailed to the applicant once processed. Purchase online through DocuSign: Visit the Long Island Region webpage at parks.ny.gov for a link to the DocuSign Application. A valid email is required, and credit card is required for payment (Amex, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Debit Card). Applications will be processed in the order received and permit(s) will be mailed to the applicant once processed. Drop-Box: Drop-off a completed application with payment (check, money order, or credit card authorization) to a State Park Drop-Box Location. See information below to obtain an application online. Currently our park is open to the public, however you may encounter several amenities to be closed. We have parking fields 2, 4, 5, 6 and 10 open for parking. Our boardwalk is open as is the beach front for walking but swimming is prohibited. As of now there is no Parking Fee through the end of April. The West End area of the park is closed to Recreational Activity. Those wishing to utilize their Dashboard Fishing permits may do so at Field 10, Field 6 and Green Island. Th...ose wishing to use their Stargazing Permits may do so at Field 6 To purchase a NEW Empire Pass you can do so Online at https://shop.parks.ny.gov/ To RENEW your pass Empire Pass (You must still have the card) this must only be done online at https://shop.parks.ny.gov/renew You may call 518-474-0458 for questions or assistance with the Empire Pass. We ask that everyone visiting the parks keep their visits brief and maintain social distancing. You may encounter parking lot closures due to crowd capacities as related to social distancing directives.
