Hello, my beloved Joy Church family! Pray WNY has organized a 21 day prayer initiative . Here is Anne V McCune sharing the heart behind Pray WNY: "Pray WNY is about uniting the church in WNY to pray in humility, unity and power. ... This prayer initiative is starting with a 21 day time of fasting and prayer for WNY beginning on May 10 and going through Pentecost on May 31. Our prayers will focus on humbling ourselves as the church, rededicating our lives to God's purposes, interceding for those in need of healing and restoration due to the current pandemic and economic situation and acknowledging God as our creator, savior and redeemer. We are asking churches and ministries to sign up for one day May 10-31. They will encourage their church family to set that day apart to pray and fast in unity with the rest of the church in WNY. " One idea is to pray thru the PAUSE acronym: P =Passion for God's presence and attitude A= Attitude of humility and service U= Unity in our homes, our church, all the churches, nation and communities. S= Scriptural depth - learn more about God E= End to the destruction and loss from this virus and for Endurance A 2nd idea is to pray for REVIVAL ! We ALL need revival. Pray for conviction, confession of sins, and for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on us and on our brothers and sisters in Christ and on our state and nation. Please also fast that day - doesn't have to be a food fast. It can be a fast of TV, radio, internet, coffee/soda, cigs, sugar/sweets........ pick something you love and are willing to give up, and spend the time in prayer instead. Fast for an hour? Half a day? The whole day, if you so choose! Fasting changes US, and softens our terribly independent spirit, and helps us realize how much we NEED God's intervention down here !
