Julie Garcia for Supreme Court Justice 4th JD 25.05.2021

GARCIA WILL CONTINUE TO POUND THE PAVEMENT ON MONDAY WITH A STOP AT INTERNATIONAL PAPER CO. The North Country is where I learned how to swing and when to duck. For Julie Garcia, the circle is now unbroken. On November 4th, the only North Country candidate for Supreme Court Justice returns to the place where her professional life first took root. When the afternoon shift changes at International Paper’s Ticonderoga plant, Julie Garcia will be at the Guard Shack encouraging... North Country workers to vote for a North Country Girl. The North Country is where I learned how to swing and when to duck, Garcia said. Over thirty years ago I started working at International Paper not knowing where life would take me. The people at the mill always had my back. They told me to work hard, never quit and always to believe in myself, Garcia explained. If not for their encouragement and that of others, I would not be where I am today. International Paper was the first of many places where Garcia worked to put herself through college and law school. Now in private practice, she is the first woman ever elected Essex County District Attorney. Garcia will be at the Guard Shack Monday afternoon from 2:15 to 3 o’clock. Friends who were hired around the same time I was decades ago still work at IP. These are the people I want to make most proud. I could not know it at the time, but this is where my campaign for Supreme Court really started. I’m grateful to be able to circle back and spend time with these special friends."

CONGRESSMAN PAUL TONKO ENDORSES JULIE GARCIA FOR SUPREME COURT JUSTICE Amsterdam Congressman Paul Tonko is endorsing Julie Garcia for Supreme Court Justice. Julie Garcia shares my commitment to serving Montgomery, Saratoga and Schenectady Counties. I could not be more proud to support her for New York State Supreme Court Justice, Tonko said.... Her work as a former District Attorney provides her the know-how we need in a State Supreme Court Justice, and her personal experience of working with a diverse set of communities has given her the empathy, grace and professionalism that we deserve in a public servant. Garcia is the first woman ever elected Essex County District Attorney. She is currently a lawyer in private practice representing criminal and civil clients throughout the Fourth Judicial District. Garcia was born and raised in Witherbee, a working-class mining community in the North Country Town of Moriah. In addition to Montgomery, Saratoga and Schenectady Counties, the Fourth Judicial District is comprised of Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Saint Lawrence, Warren and Washington Counties. Paid for by Committee to Elect Julie Garcia

THE ONLY NORTH COUNTRY CANDIDATE The people of our rural counties deserve to have a sitting Supreme Court Justice who understands their unique needs and particular struggles. Julie Garcia is proud to live and work in the North Country. Julie understands what everyday life is like in the rural areas of this district. While she started her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney on Long Island, she soon came back up north to be with her family. She has practiced in the North Country for close to 20 years and has lived in the North Country most of her life. Elect Julie Garcia for State Supreme Court Justice on November 5th!

ASSEMBLYMAN SANTABARBARA ENDORSES JULIE GARCIA FOR SUPREME COURT Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara is endorsing former Essex County District Attorney Julie Garcia for state Supreme Court Justice.... Assemblyman Santabarbara has represented all of Montgomery County and much of Schenectady County in the state legislature since 2012. An important part of my job as a Member of the Assembly is making sure my constituents are heard throughout all three branches of government, Santabarbara stated. Historically, we pay too little attention to those we elect to state Supreme Court. I want to change that because Supreme Court is the most important trial court in New York. And because one decision by one Supreme Court Justice can affect countless lives, I both trust and enthusiastically endorse Julie Garcia, Santabarbara said. The Fourth Judicial District is the largest in New York, extending from the Canadian border to suburban and rural Schenectady County. Julie knows all eleven counties of the Fourth Judicial District better than any other candidate, the Rotterdam Assembly Member noted. She is the granddaughter of a Spanish immigrant, a man who made his living in the mines. Her mother worked in a grocery store. Julie paid for Siena and Albany Law School by waiting tables and tending bar. She is the first woman ever elected Essex County District Attorney. Julie Garcia’s story is our story. She has a strong work ethic and overcomes hardship without complaint. I am confident that if elected to the Supreme Court, Julie Garcia will serve with the wisdom and understanding that only real life can bring, Assemblyman Santabarbara concluded. In addition to Montgomery and Schenectady Counties, the Fourth JD is made up of Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Saratoga, Saint Lawrence. Warren and Washington Counties.

ESSEX COUNTY TREASURER MICHAEL DISKIN ENDORSES JULIE GARCIA FOR SUPREME COURT Republican Essex County Treasurer Michael Diskin is supporting Democrat Julie Garcia for Supreme Court Justice. Julie has always had the courage of her convictions and put people over politics, Diskin said. She does her job without fear or favor from anyone. ... Garcia is the former Essex County District Attorney and the first woman elected to that position. With offices in Warrensburg and Port Henry, she is the only candidate for Supreme Court who was born, raised, practices and lives in the North Country. As the Essex County Treasurer for more than twenty-four years, I know the needs of rural New Yorkers are different from the needs of urban New Yorkers, Diskin said. The Fourth Judicial District is large and predominantly rural in nature. We need judges who understand rural New Yorkers. Julie would be that kind of Supreme Court Judge, Diskin concluded. Mike Diskin has been a mentor and friend for twenty years, and is universally trusted and admired, Garcia said. I am grateful for his courage and confidence. The Fourth Judicial District is comprised of eleven counties: Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Schenectady, Saint Lawrence, Warren and Washington.

Bi-Partisan Majority Endorses Garcia For Supreme Court Justice Supreme Court candidate and former District Attorney Julie Garcia has been endorsed by a bi-partisan majority of the Essex County Board of Supervisors. This brave declaration of trust from six Republicans and four Democrats underscores the principle that blind loyalty to one’s political party has no place in judicial elections. I am proud and humbled at receiving this extraordinary endorsement, Garcia said. ... Garcia, the North Country’s only candidate for Supreme Court Justice, is the first woman ever elected Essex County DA. This endorsement is especially meaningful to me because I was born and raised in Essex County. I had the pleasure of working with some of these individuals when I was District Attorney, and we all share a strong sense of pride and affection for our North Country home, Garcia concluded. Supporting Garcia are: Republicans Charles Harrington (Crown Point), James W. Monty (Lewis), Thomas R. Scozzafava (Moriah), Stephanie DeZalia (North Hudson), Michael Marnell (Schroon), Joseph M. Giordano (Ticonderoga), Michael K. Tyler (Westport - not pictured here), and Democrats Gerald H. Morrow (Chesterfield), Joe Pete Wilson (Keene), Stephen McNally (Minerva) and Robin DeLoria (Newcomb). Garcia is running in eleven counties comprising New York’s sprawling Fourth Judicial District: Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Schenectady, Saint Lawrence, Warren and Washington.
