It is with a heavy heart that Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. reports the passing of Officer Michael J. Moore of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department who was k...illed in an off-duty motor vehicle accident in the Town of Yorktown. Michael began his career with the New York City Department of Probation in 1997 as a probation officer. In 1998 he went on to become a Police Officer with the New York City Police Department. In September of 2003, Michael left the City of New York and became a patrolman for Hastings-On-Hudson Police Department where he remained until his retirement in 2019. After retiring from Hastings-On-Hudson he then joined the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department where he was assigned to the Special Patrol Division. The members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department join his family in grief. Michael is survived by his wife Janene and his children Jenna, Ryan, and John. Michael will never be forgotten and gave 23 years serving and protecting others with pride and integrity. The CHILD, Devine Johnson is a Black male, approximately 7 years old with black hair and brown eyes. The CHILD, Hydi Jordan is a Black female, approximately 1 year old with black hair a...nd brown eyes. Hydi was last seen wearing a black sweater with pink leggings, being pushed in a black stroller. The CHILD, Sincere Johnson is a Black male, approximately 5 years old with black hair and brown eyes. The SUSPECT, Crystal Johnson is a Black female, approximately 26 years old with black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing a navy blue sweater, leggings with flower print, black boots, hair in short twists, bruising under both eyes. . The SUSPECT was last seen traveling on Van Siclen Ave . The children were taken under circumstances that lead police to believe that they are in imminent danger of serious harm and/or death. Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call the New York City Police Department- 75th Precinct at (718) 827-3548 or dial 911 to provide information on a report or sighting.
