Meet KAFL’s resident Chief Lifeguard, Daisy! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! My name is Daisy, and yes my little Pitbull butt is wiggling with excitement as I speak! I work as an Assistant Case Manager to my mom, Masha. My humans call me ‘Crazy Daisy’, ‘Day’, or the most recent one ‘Susy’ (I am just as confused as you are). For my recent 4th birthday, the humans took me to a Wendy’s drive thru and let me pick out what I wanted- of course I chose a burger AND nuggets, because #treatyoself.... My humans say I’m a big girl, but that doesn’t stop me from climbing on top of them and curling up into a ball like a small lap dog. Even though they say they can’t breathe, they love it. When they complain, I just cover them in kisses . I literally LOVE TO EAT EVERYTHING. From food, to plastic, to really anything you can chew, I’m in! I wait patiently for anything to drop on the ground because, to me, it’s then fair game. My favorite part of working at KAFL is saying hello to all our coworkers and getting all of the head and belly scratches they can handle! There’s a lot of space for me to run around, and I’ve even learned who has the best treats. Outside of placing cases and eating, I’m obsessed with swimming. In the summer, my humans take me to the beach, and throw a stick in the water so I can run in and fetch it. Sometimes I get distracted by all of the other swimmers or boaters and start swimming out to them. I’ll never get out of the water, so don’t try and catch me!" See more

Meet KAFL’s Assistant Director of Exploration, Tiger! He’s Pumpkin’s younger fur-bro and exploration apprentice. He’s an American Long Hair with a knack for bacon and discovering new places. Because of Tiger’s anxiety, we couldn’t get a one-on-one interview with him but were assured that he enjoys ‘working’ alongside his mom, Christyna, and sister, Pumpkin, on the New Business team. As a cuddling enthusiast, Tiger has been grateful the pandemic has allowed him extra lap time on his mom while she works but has found he’s less likely to get away with his hobby of stealing paper out of the trash to rip up and play with now that she’s home more. Better practice more stealth trash operations, Tiger!

Meet one of KAFL’s oldest feline friends, Nessa. She rarely goes by Nessa as her humans call her Tubba Cat, Tubba Wubba and most recently Tooby Cat. She’s a 14 year-old Domestic Shorthair Calico who has been living the good life during the pandemic as she soaks up extra cuddles from her humans. When my mom, Jennifer, works from home, I get to curl up on a warm lap and let her incessant phone calls put me to sleep. My mom and I, along with my 3 furblings, work on the New Bus...iness team at KAFL. Some fun tidbits about me: I eat just about anything that I have easy access to (it isn’t worth my time if it’s wrapped up), I like taking baths, cuddling with my brother Hugo, grooming Hugo, laying in sun spots and talking to the birds outside. I also really love to wander the house at night with a toy in my mouth and crying for someone to come play with me. Lastly, I like making the dog afraid of me by glaring at her and I really enjoy smacking around my brother (Lincoln never Hugo). Meet KAFL’s Director of Exploration, Pumpkin! She’s a 1 year-old Tortoise Shell cat with a love for Bacon, Tuna, and you guessed it, exploring. Hello friends, I’m Pumpkin. I ‘work’ on the New Business team at KAFL where I ‘assist’ my mom Christyna. She considers my chatting with her as crying but really, I’m giving her pointers on underwriting cases I’m a modern day Marco Polo because I love to explore and see the world. You wouldn’t believe half the things I’ve seen on my quests. The secret life of cats, amirite?

Meet KAFL's ‘Chief Squirrel Chaser’, King or as his friends call him, Bubba. He’s a 10 year-old Red-nose Pitbull who assists his mom, Katie, with licensing, contracting, and commissions. Bubba loves accompanying his mom to the office so he can soak up all the attention and belly rubs he can get! When he’s not working, you can catch Bubba flirting up a storm with his live in girlfriend, Abby, chasing all the squirrels and birds, and snuggling ON TOP of his mom. "She says she’d prefer not to have my 70lb body on her rather than next to her but I’m so lovable so how can she say no?"

Meet KAFL’s Crumb Patrol Officer, Luna! She’s a 4 year-old Corgi/Heeler mix. ‘My favorite part of working at KAFL is when I come in to the office with my mom, Christyna, and receive endless amounts of treats and belly rubs. I have 2 furbling cats and 1 human brother. I’ve been lucky to have my human brother at home more this year so we can play and wear each other out. I may look small but I tear stuff up: stuffed animals, doggy ice cream, bacon, stuffed animals, stuffed animals, and then more stuffed animals. My New Year’s Resolution: to bark less at my own reflection in windows, thinking it’s another dog!

Hi friends, I’m Abigail Rose or Abby for short! I’m a 7 year-old American Staffordshire terrier and I ‘work’ at KAFL with my mom, Katie. I love love love food: sweet potatoes, cheese, treats, anything my mom eats. Confession: I tend to whine at my mom when she’s eating but that’s only because I need her to know how badly I want to share her food. Outside of watching and waiting for my human to accidentally drop food on the ground, I love coming to our office. There’s so many new things and people to sniff and I know there’s treats at almost every turn! Some might think I look scary but I’m a gentle giant who couldn’t hurt a fly. Other dogs make me nervous so don’t take it personal if it takes me awhile to warm up to you. And always remember, the way to Abby’s heart is through her stomach

Hi friends, I’m Lincoln. Since I rarely get called Lincoln, you can call one of my many nicknames: Shrinkin, Shrinka-Linka, Dinkin, Kraken, Monkey and Night Monkey. I’m a Domestic Shorthair and 9 years young. I work alongside my mom, Jennifer. By work, I mean I sit at mom’s desk and watch her mouse move across the screen. Many think I look young and small but I’m wise beyond my years with quite the appetite. I like to keep my humans on their toes by watching for when they fo...rget to latch the baby lock on the food pantry. When they do, I open the pantry, rip into anything I can bite through then disperse food amongst my 3 furblings. Now that I mention it, you can add Robinhood to my list of nicknames! Outside of work, I love running around the house like I’m being chased by a zombie, sitting by the windows to patrol the neighborhood, sitting on the front porch with my leash and harness while my humans read, and going for walks in our cat stroller or cat backpack (aka, my thrones). Meet KAFL’s ‘Chief Food Officer’, Benson. Hi friends, I’m Benson but some call me Bessy, Benny Boy, and whatever other crazy name my mom and dad think of everyday. Sometimes I think they forget my name is Benson, but they just look so happy when they say weird things, so I let it slide. I’m 6 years young and while my humans think I’m a Pit Bull/Lab mix, I just think I’m human. Working at KAFL with my mom, Masha, is so fun! The minute we stroll into work, I feel like a celebr...ity because everyone is so happy to see me. Also, my coworkers keep the treats flowin! Outside of work, I’m a simple guy who loves simple things: going on hikes, eating any and all carbs, eating rotisserie chickens (yup, I said it), belly rubs, snoozing, snoozing on my mom, more eating, and then keeping my humans in shape by racing them when my mom lets me off the leash. Meet Bosco, a 7 year-old Tibetan terrier/Spaniel mix, who acts as an ‘assistant’ to his mom, Cynthia. While I am an exercise enthusiast, business hours are challenging for me to stay awake during. What my days usually look like: eat, take my humans for walks, jump, nap, impress humans to get treats, jump, nap, eat, jump more, and you guessed it, more naps! My humans and I live in Connecticut and while I’m not too far from endless seafood cuisines, I keep it simple with my love of clementines and hot dogs. OK, I have to end the interview as it’s almost another nap time .

Meet our Door Security Officer, Trevor! At 5 months old, he’s our youngest and most energetic fur worker and keeps his mom, Lorrie, on her toes! We think he’s a Hound/Great Dane mix and with his growing stature, he was clearly the best fit to stand watch when he comes to our beautiful building (whether his mom wants him out of her office or not). ‘I don’t mean to brag but I’m young and spry therefore you can usually catch me running laps around my yard and wearing out my huma...ns with family hikes and me just being me. I teach toys whose boss around these parts so whenever my brothers and/or sister leave a toy around, watch out because they won’t stand a chance against me! Once I’m finally ready for some R&R, I love to put my paws up on a bean bag chair with a nice cheese. While COVID has provided many challenges to individuals, families, and businesses, one thing it has strengthened for us at KAFL: our innovation. Every year, we host a company picnic for staff and their families to say thank you for being a part of the KAFL family. We had to think outside the box in order to still have this event and to ensure everyone’s safety. We had our first ever Drive Thru Picnic which was a huge success! Thank you to everyone on the leadership team for... helping to make this happen and happen smoothly. A big shout out to some local favorite businesses of ours: @FlashpointCustoms and @GoodSmokeBBQ . Bob and his team @FlashpointCustoms created the perfect gift for our team to head into the Labor Day weekend with some beautiful and quality new grill tools! @GoodSmokeBBQ fed our staff and their families delicious barbeque dinners and accommodated all our requests from vegan diets to vegetarian to offering to package each families take home meals. Meet one of KAFL’s youngest fur balls, Izzy. She’s a 4 year-old Goldendoodle with an extra shot of poodle. I LOVE working from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I can spend time with my best friend my human dad, Matt! Outside of work, I tell my humans I love to take long vigorous hikes with them but in reality, I love pedicures, spa days, napping on the couch, chasing and barking at dogs on that screen in the living room and sunbathing. Meet one of KAFL’s feline friends, Simba. He’s a 7 year-old house cat who has thoroughly enjoyed this whole ‘mom works from home some days because of the pandemic’ thing. When my mom, Caitlin, works from home, I get to stay with her all day and curl up between her and her laptop. My mom and I work on the Employee Benefits team at KAFL so even though ‘we’ are extra busy with open enrollment season, I love a good 2-3 hour nap every couple hours to break up the day. I like to s...tretch out and put my paws on the mouse pad and hit keys. I squeak when mom tries to move me to a more comfortable spot for her because I’m the boss around these parts. Speaking of boss moves, my favorite things to do are: vomit up hairballs in my dad’s book bag, people/animal watch from the kitchen window, sleep in the bathtub when my mom forgets to close the bathroom door, hide in closets, and play games with plastic bottle caps. Spoiler alert: I win that game every time! My favorite motto: ‘I do what I want.’ See more

We can’t let last week’s fur-worker take the spotlight for too long or his brother, Peepers, will get pawsitively jealous. Here he is, Moose’s brother, Peepers! He is a 7 year-old Chihuahua who likes the finer things in life like a nice cheese. While Moose looks like my bigger brother, we are the same age and were adopted by our humans only a week apart! Moose has claimed our dad, Jesus’, feet while my preferred spot to lounge is right on dad’s shoulders. Meet one of KAFL’s adorable fur-workers, Moose. He’s a 7 year-old Catahoula Pitbull mix. Moose may not get excited by reports or emails, but he loves a good nap on his dad, Jesus’, feet while he’s hard at work. Since he has a generous brother and will eat just about anything, Moose enjoys working off those treats, magnets, socks, etc. with long walks and puddle diving! Meet last week’s furworker’s sibling, Hugo! I’m an 8 year-old Domestic Long Hair. My humans have a few nicknames for me: Hoody, Hooda Cat, Hoody Booty, and just plain ‘Booty’. While I’m not dairy-free because I love cheese more than anything, I do enjoy polishing off any leftover almond milk from my mom’s cereal bowl. I may not be the most diligent worker at KAFL, I will argue that I’m one of the cuddliest! When I’m not working, I enjoy cuddling with my humans, watching animals on TV, or going for an outdoor stroll with my humans and brother. Some of you call it a cat stroller but I call it my throne. King Hugo has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?

BLAST OFF! Meet one of our newest furry additions, Ginger. She’s a 12 year-old Shiffon (Brussels Griffon and Shih Tzu mix). It’s rare you’d see Ginger in the office because she’s down in North Carolina assisting her mom, Lisa, with leading KAFL’s marketing team. When she’s not snoring loudly on Zoom calls, she’s begrudgingly taking her humans on long hikes and licking people to death. She then changed careers and spent the last year honing her skills at Excellus. She holds a B.S. degree from both St. John Fisher College and Kaplan University and was born and raised in Rochester. Caitlin likes to read, play video games and try her hand at cooking while residing in Spencerport with her fiancé and cat, Simba.
