Busy shipping, mail/package receiving, and retail store. Assist customers by scanning packages, packing and shipping items, and copying, printing, faxing, and scanning documents. Handle cash and credit card transactions using cash register/computer POS system. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Must utilize store provided personal protective equipment (PPE). SMOKERS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED DUE TO ALLERGIES, ETC. There are no benefits offered with this job. Just straight pay.... Training provided on all aspects of store operations. Prior retail experience strongly preferred. We’re open M-F, 10am - 6pm. Must also be available to work Saturdays 10-2. We have slightly adjusted our weekday hours. Instead of opening at 9AM, M-F, we are opening at 11:30, and closing at 6PM as usual. We are temporarily closed on Saturdays for the duration of the pandemic. M-F, FedEx Ground pickup is still 4:30, FedEx Express and UPS are 5:00. ... USPS delivers to us around noon M-F and our last drop off at the Katonah PO is 4PM. We are still shipping and receiving via DHL, UPS, FedEx, and USPS. We are still coordinating LTL freight shipments for items larger and/or heavier or of higher value than handled by common carriers. All of our normal packing, shipping, scanning, faxing and printing services are available. We have, however, temporarily suspended customer’s direct access to the copying machines because of the pandemic. We will be happy to assist you with any copying, printing and scanning. Mailboxes are available to rent, and we have recently partnered with three Virtual (aka Digital) mailbox companies: iPostal1 iPostal1.com PostScanMail PostScanMail.com Anytime Mailbox anytimemailbox.com These allow customers to have our address, 282 Katonah Avenue, as their mailing address, no matter where they are in the world. But most importantly, these services allow customers to manipulate their mail remotely. Once mail and packages arrive at our store, the front of the item is scanned in. Then people can request several actions: open/scan, forward to anywhere, shred, recycle, hold for pickup or other services. All of this can be requested right from the customers phone or other device. This kind of remote mail/package manipulation might be useful in this difficult time.

As of Monday, March 23rd, 2020 we are planning to be open during our normal business hours. FedEx, UPS, DHL, and USPS services will be available as usual. FedEx Ground pickup is still 4:30 FedEx Express pickup is still 5:00... USPS deadline is still roughly 4:45 since the Post Office closes at 5 DHL pickup is roughly 4:00 All services are still available. We have actually increased our offerings to include virtual/digital mailboxes. I will post the companies we have partnered with in my next post.

I’m extremely excited about this last bit of decor that should be going up in a week or so in our store. I had some dreadfully boring space left over the customer mailboxes and I wanted to do something that loosely fit into the shipping/transportation arena. I had no idea that my search would end with this though! Not exactly shipping, and while it is transportation, it’s more likely the kind that might have been used to keep ships safe (or not;-)... This is a 70 long WWI propeller that arrived in fantastic condition today (replica), along with this coolest of biplane mounts as described below (the mount should arrive this week): Designed to look like the front of a World War I fighter plane, complete with dual machine guns peaking over the engine cowling. Printed directly on rustic, distressed side of seven half-inch thick pine boards.
