Kennedy State Forest

Today we finished the Fall X/C trail work. All of the ski trails marked with yellow disks from Cook Hill Rd to the Finger Lakes Trail / powerline have been cleared & mowed. Ski conditions this season will be posted here:

2015 Virgil Crest Ultra Marathons are scheduled The Virgil Crest Ultras are 50K/50M/100M ultramarathons plus a 100M relay run over the hills and gorges surrounding Virgil, N.Y. The event uses Finger Lakes Trail sections spanning the Tuller Hill and Kennedy State Forests, and is paired with the signature terrain of Greek Peak Nordic and Alpine Resorts. ... This year's races will begin at 6 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 with the 50 and 100 mile races. Their respective cut-off times are 16.5 and 36 hours with the 100 mile course closure at 6 pm on Sunday. The 100-mile relay will roll at 8 am on Saturday and have a 28 hour cutoff at 12 pm on Sunday. The Virgil Crest 50K flight takes off at 7 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, and ends with the 11 hour cut off in sequence with the 100M solo at 6 p.m. Entry will open on March 21, and be limited to the first 150 qualified entrants in each of the solo events. The cross country ski trail crew has been busy the past couple of weeks. All of the trails marked with yellow X/C ski markers have been cleared and are now ready for snow.
