Kids in the Game is looking for Head Counselors, General Counselors, and Junior Counselors that will work closely with the Camp Director, Assistant Directors, and other administrative staff to make the 2021 summer the best one ever. Will you be tying shoes, putting on sunscreen, answering a million little one’s questions? Absolutely. But you will also be going on field trips, playing sports, and changing kids’ lives all day long and there is nothing better than that. Most importantly you will be providing a supportive, safe, and fun environment for the youth of New York City to grow and learn while experiencing the non-stop fun of Summer Camp!

Meet Coach Siana, our September Coach of the Month! Coach Siana started working with Kids in the Game in 2019 as a Summer Marketing Intern. Since then, she's been at School of the Blessed Sacrament, our UES Summer Camp, and now our UWS Remote Learning Center! In every role at Kids in the Game, Coach Siana commits 110%. She is always prepared, positive, and gives her absolute best for the kids everyday.... Here's what Program Coordinator, Coach Brandon, has to say about Coach Siana's work: "It has been a joy having Coach Siana be a part of our UWS Remote Learning Center team. She has been invaluable in helping the kids adjust to their new school, making them comfortable, and being an asset whenever they have technical difficulties. Meet Coach Frances! Frances is on our operations team and the director of our early childhood programming. Last month we celebrated National Women's Health & Fitness Day, and this is what Frances said about her health journey. "I always have the aspiration of being an athlete. I was a volleyball player in my elementary and high school years. And that was it... I felt my aspiration to be an athlete, as a swimmer or a runner, will always be an evasive dream. My summer wa...s totally different. It went from day to night! A wise person told me, 'Turn this into an AFGO - Another Fantabulous Growth Opportunity.' I started running, and joining virtual 5K races - 1 in New York, 2 in California and 1 in Ohio. I would always break my personal time. Meet Coach Ivelisse! She is an amazing coach and teacher and always has the best smile on her face! #HispanicHeritageMonth "Hispanic Heritage Month will always remain close to my heart. It is the time of the year that I reflect and educate myself on the trailblazers who came before me and those who are currently serving the public. It is also a time to celebrate numerous cultures under the umbrella term of being Hispanic. Being Puerto Rican is an integral part of my identity and will seize any opportunity to represent my Island. Fun fact: I marched in the National Puerto Rican Day Parade in 2016 alongside the organization as one of their scholars, and Carmelo Anthony was with us too!"

Meet Coach Lisa! She is an incredible coach, artist, leader and teammate. #HispanicHeritageMonth "Hola! Mi nombre es Lisa Henriquez y yo soy Latina. I loved growing up in a Hispanic neighborhood because it was always so diverse. I enjoy learning all the different dances that each Latin culture has. My favorite memory growing up as a Latina was our family get together. It was a moment to bring everyone together to dance, laugh, and enjoy the variety of foods that are enrich...ing and so flavorful! Being able to speak Spanish has been helpful at Kids in the Game. I am able to communicate to our Latin families about the amazing opportunities they would have at our programs. Providing opportunities through sports and creative play has made a big impact on our kids lives. Not only they get to meet new Coaches but make new friends from all different types of backgrounds! Every year, September 15 through October 15 marks Hispanic Heritage Month. It’s an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans who trace their roots back to Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean. Some of our team celebrated with a socially distant Latin dance class. They learned the Salsa, Cumbia, and Merengue!
