Dear Kings Park teachers and members of our Kings Park Community: Yesterday during our "last day" parade we received another incredible donation, from students who have been raising funds during these hard times. We received gift bags and envelopes "filled" with gift cards, gift certificates, local business donations, food store certificates, and gas cards. We must say thank you to all of you who donated to our KINGS PARK helps KINGS PARK food drive! So many amazing childr...en participated and helped in so many ways, and they did this specifically to help, not to get recognition! We thank the students who placed hand-written notes on their KP neighbors' doors, and walked home with bags filled to the top with donations! We thank kids who came up with creative ideas to raise money, and took all the cash earned to buy gift cards from KP local store owners. We appreciate so much our "Birthday Bunch," the youngest, who deserve, and are applauded, for their efforts. These young friends, who did not get on the front page of the KPCSD website, requested NO birthday gifts (which they usually can't wait to open....) in order to donate every dollar to those less fortunate. We were honored to have so many staff members with their cars filled with every item we asked for. We were so appreciative of every car that pulled up in front of Kings Park High School, filled to capacity with items for our pantry! We were so thankful to those parents who came with our favorite kids in their automobile, with bags and boxes and bottles galore. We received a van stuffed with fruit, milk, and loads of snacks. The van had so much to share, that our Saint Joseph's KP food pantry also accepted (and needed) these donations. We have worked together with our community for over 30 years! Our phones light up because each day we receive another act of KP kindness. We are "stoked" because every day you seem to blow us away with your love and support! To be honest, saying "thank you" is not enough! You will be forever in our hearts; we are so grateful for you and your continuous support for our local families and community.
