Finally, our last but certainly not least Senior to send off is Geoff Taylor! Geoff played trumpet for the Syracuse University Bands and is a member of the Alpha Mu class. We asked him some questions to reflect on the fun memories and here are his answers: What will you miss most about SU? I will miss being so close to all of my friends all the time... What is your favorite memory from Kappa? Favorite kappa experiences are similar to marching band experiences beating Clemson, winning camping world bowl and so on. But the friends I have made and the times I shared with them are my real favorites. Which brother (current or former) has had the greatest impact on you and why? Cassie Leachman has had the largest effect on me by far. Who else would keep me in check? Who else would wait with me for Tater to finish showering? Absolutely vital force in my college experience. Is there anything you would change about your college experience? I would focus more on time management in college. Would make my job experience a little easier at the moment Do you have any post graduation plans? I plan on finding a tech job in Atlanta and making my way back to the northeast. Is there anything you would like to say to future members? I would say that for most of us, this is the most enriching thing we did in all of our college experience. It is absolutely true for me. Give it a shot if you like the people. The friends I made here will be with me for the rest of my life. We’ll miss you Geoff and good luck with everything that you do!

To continue with Senior Sendoff Sunday is Gio Pettigrass! Gio played trombone for the Syracuse University Bands and is a member of the Alpha Nu class. We asked him some questions to reflect on the fun memories and here are his answers: What will you miss most about SU? I’m going to miss the amazing community of people that support my reckless behavior and foolish ways of life. ... What is your favorite memory from Kappa? My fav memory was going to NEDCON in 2018 while I was an MC and getting to hang with the brothers there. (Thank Eta Beta for making that trip unforgettable) Which brother (current or former) has had the greatest impact on you and why? Eddie Schwearing is someone that I look up to very highly. He has impacted the way I look at everyday life. He’s helped me change my perspective and views on a lot of subjects. Is there anything you would change about your college experience? If I did not have to leave a year early like I am, that would be great. I’d love to have another year with my closest friends (especially my Alpha Nu class). Also if Covid didn’t ruin my last year here, that would’ve been nice. Do you have any post graduation plans? I’m heading to Fredonia to finish my Music Ed degree, and I’m hoping to gig a lot more. Is there anything you would like to say to future members? Sometimes it’s important to sacrifice time out of your day to be with your friends. I highly regret not being around as much as I could because my busy schedule. Your success in life won’t bring you happiness if you don’t have anyone to celebrate your success with. Also, never stop being a kid, and always find a way to get into some trouble. Life is a lot more fun that way. We’ll miss you Gio and good luck with everything that you do!

To continue with Senior Sendoff Saturday is Kieran O’Halloran! Kieran was drum major for the SUMB and played trumpet in the Syracuse University bands. He is a member of the Alpha Nu class. We asked him some questions to reflect on the fun memories and here are his answers: What will you miss most about SU? I think the thing I’ll miss most are performing at football games. From starting at morning rehearsals all the way to conducting and wrapping up the day with the alma mater.... It’s something that I’ll look back and cherish the most. What is your favorite memory from Kappa? My favorite Kappa memory would be performing at East Hill elementary with TBS Which brother (current or former) has had the greatest impact on you and why? I would say either John Ireton, my big Geoff Taylor or my ride or die, Ethan Hamilton. John helped bring me into Kappa and shared a lot of great moments with me throughout the process and when I was a brother. Geoff and Ethan have been my day one boys. They both have been a brother in a fraternal sense as well as a literal sense. Geoff has taught me a lot about life whereas Ethan has taught me a lot about when we rushed together. They both have seen me at my highest high and lowest low and have always been there for me, for which I’ll be forever grateful for. Is there anything you would change about your college experience? I wouldn’t really change anything about My college experience. I’ve enjoyed pretty much everything here at Syracuse. Do you have any post graduation plans? I will be working at Streamlight as a CMS Web Developer. Is there anything you would like to say to future members? Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! You’ll miss out on a lot of your college experience if you just sit in yo dorm room twiddling your thumbs waiting for something to happen. Go out there and find something you’re compassionate about! We’ll miss you Kieran and good luck with everything that you do!

Starting off Senior Sendoff Sunday is Cassie Leachman! Cassie played trumpet in the Syracuse University bands and is a member of the Alpha Mu class. We asked her some questions to reflect on the fun memories and here are her answers: What will you miss most about SU? Traveling with my best friends for the ACC and NCAA Basketball Tournaments.... What is your favorite memory from Kappa? Becoming a brother. The energy between the Alpha Mus and the rest of that brotherhood that night was more electric than anything I’d experienced. Which brother (current or former) has had the greatest impact on you and why? My little brother, Ian McMurry. By the time spring semester of Senior year hit, I was jaded and ready to phase out of Kappa. But he made me excited to be in Kappa in a way I haven’t been since I was a Freshman or Sophomore. Even though we haven’t been able to see each other since March, he still pushes me to be better every day. Is there anything you would change about your college experience? No. Things didn’t always turn out the way I initially wanted them to, but those experiences proved to me that everything happens the way it needs to. Do you have any post graduation plans? I’m planning on moving to Los Angeles to be a music producer at West Alley Studios once quarantine is officially over. Is there anything you would like to say to future members? Four years goes by so quickly. Remember to look around during those moments you feel invincible and truly be grateful for what’s in front of you. We’ll miss you Cassie and good luck with everything that you do!

Kappa Kappa Psi 25.06.2020

Next up for Senior Sendoff Saturday is Matt (Tater) Juliana! Tater played snare drum in the Syracuse University bands and is a member of the Alpha Mu class. We asked him some questions to reflect on the fun memories and here are his answers: What will you miss most about SU? I'll definitely miss all the friends I made. Being able to walk out of my room and be surrounded by my closest friends was a great experience.... What is your favorite memory from Kappa? Hanging out with everyone on the porch having really meaningful conversations into the early morning. Which brother (current or former) has had the greatest impact on you and why? Matt Dupuis and I had an instant connection because we had a lot in common. Being able to talk about our past and current struggles was really cathartic. And we were able to just make each other laugh until we were both in tears and gasping for air. Is there anything you would change about your college experience? Be more intentional with my time. Study harder so I could have more free time and still do well in school. Is there anything you would like to say to future members? Support each other, college can be really tough to get through alone. We’ll miss you Tater and good luck with everything that you do!

Kappa Kappa Psi 21.06.2020

And we’re back! Kicking off the second weekend of Senior Sendoffs is Cameron (Hanz) Hauberg! Hanz played tenor drums in the Syracuse University bands and is a member of the Alpha Mu class. We asked him some questions to reflect on the fun memories and here are his answers: What will you miss most about SU? The sense of community... What is your favorite memory from Kappa? Hanging out with my brothers Which brother (current or former) has had the greatest impact on you and why? Brother nut. He has helped me through my depression and has always been there when I needed someone. Is there anything you would change about your college experience? Try to be more academically focused in my sophmore and junior years Do you have any post graduation plans? Grad school in florida Is there anything you would like to say to future members? Dont lose sight of why you are in college We’ll miss you Hanz and good luck with everything that you do!

This past year was unforgettable and although graduation already happened (sort of), we still want to wish these special people nothing but the best in their new journeys. Up next for Senior Send Off Sunday is Ethan Hamilton! Ethan played tenor sax in the Syracuse University bands and is a member of the Alpha Nu class. We asked him some questions to reflect on the fun memories and here are his answers: What will you miss most about SU? The sense of spirit and community.... What is your favorite memory from Kappa? Meeting my future life long friends. Which brother (current or former) has had the greatest impact on you and why? It's hard to pick one. There have been many people in my four years that have had a tremendous impact on me and my life. Brothers like Sean Mackellar, Jordan Young, Joshua McCleary, Brandon Bauer, Kieran O'Halloran, and Ryan O'Connor have all challenged me to be the best version of myself and redefined expectations of myself and others. I am eternally grateful. Is there anything you would change about your college experience? I should have abided by the expectations I have for myself rather than the expectations others had for me. Do you have any post graduation plans? Yes. I am putting my name in for the upcoming United States Marine Corps Officer Candidates School board with an aviation contract. Is there anything you would like to say to future members? Make the best of time you have, it goes by fast. You get out what you put into the organization. We’ll miss you Ethan and good luck with everything that you do!
