"The budget is a moral document. It shows where our values are and what we actually prioritize. - Rev. Joe Paparone #FundExcludedWorkers #MoralNY #InvestInOurNY
Right now, we’re in a moment where the rubber hits the road. Because the budget is a moral document. It shows where our values are and what we actually prioritize. The rich have increased their wealth vastly throughout the pandemic, while our workers, the ones who produce that wealth, are struggling. Rev. Joe Paparone, Acting Director of the Labor Religion Coalition of New York State. I am an immigrant; I have a family of five. I have lived through the difficulties of covi...d, and it has affected me in tremendous ways. We have spent more than a year struggling to find work because of the pandemic. We are SO desperate. We contribute, we pay taxes, and we deserve our fair share. - Nelson, a member of Columbia County Sanctuary Movement Columbia County Sanctuary Movement I think about last year, the bailouts they gave to some of those big corporations. And now, all New Yorkers, working families, immigrants, are asking for the same handout and we pay taxes. The corporations do not pay taxes. - Albany Common Council Member Owusu Anane #FundExcludedWorkers #moralny
"The budget negotiations happening around the Excluded Worker Bailout Fund is about political will." Amaury Tañón-Santos #FundExcludedWorkers #MoralNY
