Although we are thankfully able to remain open as an essential service, we will be taking action to help reduce person to person contact to reduce the spread of the Corona Virus while keeping our customer’s vehicles on the road. Beginning Monday, March 23rd Lake Huntington Automotive will be operating by appointment only. We will also be closing our customer waiting area and ask that all customers make arrangements to drop vehicles off for service. We will also be using d...isinfectants in customer vehicles on surfaces that are necessary to touch. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please call us at 845-932-8267 Thank you for your understanding and please be safe!

It has been a while since I posted. So I have a question, I have a good friend in Detroit that has started a project called the, don't fret project!! We are goi...ng to try and extend this project all the way from the Motor City to Sullivan county NY. Why? Because it doesn't matter where you live there is always some child in need, and it is up to us to be the change that we want to see in this world!! So with that being said, I am looking for bicycles, scooters, skateboards, that are in ok shape so we can clean them up maybe add a little fresh paint and give them to some children that just don't have. So far I have three drop off locations, 1. My shop. 2. Lake Huntington Automotive Services 3. Valley Water Services. I would like to see what we could get done by Christmas. I will keep you posted on any new projects, and I will update everyone on how this project is going. Be the change, we can make a difference! See more

It's Vehicle Safety Week! Be sure to check your vehicle before hitting the road this summer.... Whether you’re spending a day at Jones Beach or Grafton State Park, or planning a trip to Niagara Falls, all New Yorkers are urged to make sure their vehicles are as ready as they are. Gov. Andrew Cuomo has declared the week of May 22-29 as Vehicle Safety Week in the Empire State. He urges all New Yorkers to have their vehicles examined to check brake and radiator fluids, ensure that tires are properly inflated, that your windshield wipers are not worn, and that everything is in good working order. He also encouraged people to check safercar.gov to check for any recalls that might affect their vehicles. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there are 11,000 crashes every year as a result of faulty tires alone including 200 fatalities. The website safercar.gov details what recalls are in effect for vehicles so that motorists can quickly get them repaired or parts replaced. Just as a family checks to make sure all the suitcases are properly packed and that there is sufficient bug spray and sunscreen, it is even more important to take the time to make sure the vehicle is working properly, said DMV Executive Deputy Commissioner Terri Egan. Nothing ruins a vacation like being stranded at the side of the road or, worse, being in an easily preventable accident. We want all New Yorkers’ vacations to be memorable for the right reasons, not the wrong ones. It is also recommended that New Yorkers keep a summer travel safety kit in their car with windshield wiper fluid, jumper cables, a tire pressure gauge, hazard road markers, a flashlight, phone charger and water and snacks for passengers in case you are stranded. When checking that the tires on the car are properly inflated, make sure the spare tire is also in good condition in case you need it.
