MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEARS
On May 1 we will be opening the campground to seasonal campers only, Ray has been working on turning the water on to all camp sites, and should be completed today. Because of the Corona 19 virus and NYS Dept. of Health requirements we are unable to open the bathrooms, Snack Bar, and swim area, in addition the children’s play area is also closed. You will be required to use the bath facilities in your camper.... The laundry will be open but only one person at a time is allowed in the building, if this is not adhered to we will have to close the laundry. At this time visitors are not allowed, only those registered owners of the RV or camper are allowed. Social distancing of 6 feet must be adhered to while in the campground , plus have a mask readily available or on while walking in the campground. The boat ramp will also be opening May 1, bring enough people with you to assist in launching your boat, as social distancing is hard to maintain while launching your boat masks are required to be worn. On May 15 we will be opening the campground to overnight and weekend campers, self contained RV’s only, no tent campers. They will be required to abide by the same rules as our seasonal campers. The Steuben Dept. of Health issues us our permit to operate the campground, and inspection authority, and we answer directly to them. In most counties, local Departments of Health (the permitting agency) have received guidance from the State Department of Health (DOH) to continue operating, while maintaining strict adherence to the mandates outlined in each of the Executive Orders. Each campground that has applied for, and received a permit to operate, may continue to do so under the following guidelines: No social gatherings of any size, at any time All gatherings spaces (e.g. pavilions) are closed All bathrooms and bathing facilities are closed Food service may still operate, but only as takeout or delivery Proper signage on the property instructing residents to adhere to the above policies, including the CDC recommendations on social distancing. This has been a unusual and trying time for us all, both weather wise and the corona 19 virus, please help us all so we can get past this and return to a normal summer. We all hope and pray things return to normal, and we all stay healthy during these trying times.8
I called and spoke to the NYS Dept of Health this morning and asked them for the current guidelines for private campgrounds, they gave me the following information: We may open the campground to seasonal campers and over night guest starting May 1, 2020. Social distancing guidelines of 6 feet must be followed.... The Snack Bar will be closed until further notice . Jean and I have decided to allow seasonal campers to go to their sites prior to opening for cleaning and preparing their campers for use this summer, day light only, no overnight stays. At this time the water is not turned on, when we turn it on is dependent on the weather, we are as always more concerned with the nighttime temperature than the warm days. We will open the boat launch on May 1, please bring enough people to help launch your boat. We are in touch with the NYS Dept of Health and will advise of any changes to the above. Please be aware these are todays requirements and are subject to change at any time, we will keep you as up to date as is possible. Walt & Jean Blusewicz Owners
We are looking for someone who repairs soda vending machines in our area, any suggestions??
Unfortunately this year we must cancel our yearly Polar Bear Plunge, usually the last Saturday in February. Jean has moderate degenerative changes involving her lumbar spine, she also has a compression fracture of her L1 and other disc problems. She is in treatment and improving, but is severely limited in lifting, and movements. ... With my own back and hip problems we have decided to cancel this event. It is also doubtful we will be opening the Snack Bar this season. If anyone is interested in renting our Snack Bar facilities and equipment contact us. I’m sure we can come to an mutual agreement. We are sorry for this news, as we know a lot of people looked forward to this event.
VOTERS AND TAX PAYERS OF THE TOWN OF HOWARD,Your Town Board is at it again. First it was the Town highway Supervisor, then it was the Town Clerk and now it’s your Elected Town Justice. They are making up their own rules and breaking laws along the way.. They have stopped paying the Town Justice, Droped the Highway Budget and man power and want to do away with the logging law. You can’t access the Town Clerk , no body know what her hours are. Let’s put this Town Board on notice. Come to the Board meeting on Wednesday, December 9th at 7pm. Town Hall 3725 Mill Rd. Howard. THEY ARE RUINING OUR SMALL TOWN. Please share with every one you know that lives and votes in Howard. PM Mary Kaye Desilva if you want more info !
