** Trail Alert ** Due to the rain earlier in the week, trail conditions are very icy. Use extreme caution and use the proper gear to avoid injury. Micro spikes may be needed to hike many of our preserves. Be careful and have fun out there!
LGLC Staff took the morning to check out a few new trails, educational signs, and new property recently added to the Last Great Shoreline/Gull Bay Preserves in Putnam. Couldn't have been a more beautiful day!
The LGLC uses registers to help us keep track of how many people are using certain preserves, and they can be useful resources in emergency situations. The NYS DEC is making recommendations on how to safely continue using trailhead registers to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Check out the link for their list of recommended safety measures when signing in, or, if you choose to avoid the registers, check in to the preserve on Facebook to document that you visited. All of our parks and preserves have their own page; be sure to check in to the correct page (ours all have the LGLC logo as our profile pic)!
