In my 20 years plus as a casting director and my 35 years in the entertainment industry, I have seldom encountered a more artistically supportive, creative or community centric organization than the Signature Theatre of Arlington, Va. Signature and Eric Schaeffer have, for as long as I have known them, produced the very best hybrid of local and New York theatre artists. They step out on a limb for local artists at every turn and the quality of the work produced is extraord...inary. I know because I travel to DC at every opportunity to see it. Remarkably, they are also one of the few theaters in the country who have managed to keep their entire staff on salary and employed in the face of Covid19. The experience of working for Signature and for Eric has, for me, been one of constant and joyous collaboration. I have not ever, as a woman, felt diminished or demeaned. I am honored to count myself among the supporters and, I hope, the family of the Signature Theatre and Eric Schaeffer.
