At a time when it’s been difficult for so many of us to be with each other in person, Earth Day Initiative and March for Science NYC are empowering people to continue to connect virtually around climate action and ways we can build a better future. DAY 1: 4/18/21 at 12 PM ET... A full line-up of speakers and presentations will explore issues like green living, sustainable business, and community-building around environmental issues. We’ll feature prominent climate activists, scientists, celebrities, community leaders, performers, and public officials in an interactive line-up of panels and discussions. DAY 2: 4/19/21 at 12 PM ET Our partners have created an incredible and dynamic virtual reality space that harkens back to video games from the 1990s where attendees can explore via their own avatar and talk with exhibitors and other attendees via live Zoom windows that automatically pop up when avatars approach each other. New Year's reflection. 2020 was a unique year which compelled us to stop taking our current way of life for granted. We were forced to hit reset. We were thankful to health workers who dedicated their time and lives to save others. We understood the power of connection and of healing. We valued back-to-basics starting with mental and physical health. We developed a deeper appreciation for our loved ones when we started consciously seeing what was in front of us. As we dealt... with losses, challenges and pain worldwide, our collective mental health became the priority. The words Healing, Kindness, Bravery, and Simplicity emerged in our psyche and became a part of our vocabulary. Our primal need to connect to nature also ascended as we went on walks and tended to our gardens. Our homes took on an expanded and deeper function and meaning: as our sanctuary, our centering space, where we live, work, play and thrive. As a consequence, we became painfully aware of the impact of our homes on our well-being. Health and Wellness were elevated to the forefront of our minds. As we look to 2021, a new era is upon us where the home is undergoing a revolution to be a primary vehicle for the health and wellness of not only ourselves but also our planet. The conscious choices we make for design and healthy materials to create healthier interiors will be more important than ever before. Here’s to a new year of hugs, smiles, love, cooperationand action! I am enthusiastic about where we are headed! Happy New Year everyone!
