Leatherman's Loop 20.03.2021

In order to comply with the new NYS guidelines, and to protect our running community and local communities, Sunday Runs will not be hosting group runs until further notice. Stay safe all. We know, however, that this group of people thrives on the physical and mental health benefits of outdoor activity. To that end, I refer you to our robust Maps tab and encourage you to download a map and take a run as needed. Perhaps bring a friend for safety in the event of injury, but ma...intain safe social distancing. Another suggestion is to coordinate with a small group of friends and exercise the beacon, follow a friend feature, or join the Leatherman Harriers Strava Group and see what everyone is doing. Run together at a distance, or at separate times and places, but be aware and watchful of one another. We don’t want you out there alone if you run into trouble. If you need help finding a group to connect with that way, please message SundayRuns and we will hook you up. More info here http://sundayruns.org/runs-canceled/

Everything related to COVID-19 is happening quickly and based on the CDC guidance against public gatherings over 50 people, we are postponing the 2020 Leatherman’s Loop. This is new to all of us and we thank you for your patience while we come up with a workable plan to move forward... (click link to read more...)

On Sunday, March 8, at 8:00 a.m., meet at Lewisboro Town Park, Upper Parking Lot, ready to run a new coursethe Five Bridges Run. This course offers three options for different lengths9, 6.5, and 5.5 milesall of which pass over all four bridges in the Rez. Three of the bridges have been closed since late summer and, while they’re still under construction, I’m hoping they’ll be open for business by the end of this week. Let’s find out. Early risers start at 5:00 or 7:00 a.m.... Rookie Runners start at 7:00 a.m. See the map at link https://buff.ly/2VKCXOh SATURDAY: KIMBERLY BRIDGE -- On Saturday, March 7, at 6:00 a.m., meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Kimberly Bridge Lot, and run an hour of hill repeats up Blue. You should be able to get in 3 or 4 before you return to the lot at 7:00 a.m. to run the Boutonville Oak Loop. This multidistance run offers lengths from 6 to 8.5 miles and will cross the new Meadow bridge. Or, if you’re into blue hill repeats, keep goingthe group can see how many you’ve done when they return. See the map at link

On Sunday, February 2, at 8:00 a.m., meet at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation Meadow Lot when we run an annual favoriteThe Looper Bowl. It’s all the fun of the Leatherman’s Loop but colder and with a chance for snow and ice. You won’t want to miss this! If you don’t want to get your feet wet, there is an option to avoid the water crossings and even the mud flats but the final map will be determined the morning of the run. Looking to start early? Arrive at 5:00, 6:00, or 7:00 for... some additional loops. ... see map at link below... SATURDAY, TUSK & CUP -- This Saturday, February 1, at 7:00 a.m., meet at Tusk and Cup coffee shop, 51 Ethan Allen Highway, Ridgefield CT, and prepare to run the 11 mile Brew to Brews run through Devil’s Den and Saugatuck. Options include the full 11 miles and an abbreviated 6 mile version. Since weather conditions may be, *ahem*, less than ideal, we’ll make a determination on the final course over coffee that morning. Options include the Devil’s Den to Saugatuck run, the Devil’s Ledge run, or even the Saugatuck Loop which is longer but a little easier by most measures. Details at link https://buff.ly/2UaWd6T
