Have you visited the Museum of Deaf History, Arts & Culture? Check the link and support the Museum if you can.
A Black Deaf activist and author, Linwood D. Smith published first book in 1973, Silence, Love and Kids I Know to raise funds for Black Deaf Caucus. In 1978-...1979, Black Deaf Caucus made an agreement with National Association of the Deaf (NAD) welcoming Black Deaf members and reprinted Smith’s book. The book was discontinued a few years later. If you find that book and own one, then you’re lucky! If you see one, please donate to the Museum of Deaf History, Arts & Culture. A generous donation of that book will make a difference! #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackDeafHistoryMonth

This is an awesome resource for NYC deaf history. Lexington School for the Deaf is mentioned along with other deaf NYC schools in this story maps.
