VIRTUAL ANIMATION with Roger Scott (begins Sept. 19th on Zoom! links to come) Our Animated Filmmaking Class is like no other. Although animated filmmaking employs many different techniques, our focus is on hand drawn traditional character animation. Rather than following a rigid one size fits all approach, we support the individual students’s unique development path as an animated filmmaker. ... The class uses the Roughanimator app ($5 at roughanimator.com) to create animated films, although any other animation software the student has access to is ok as well. Our students are of all ages and skill levels and are supported and encouraged to explore the process of animated filmmaking at their own pace. Individual students are guided through the animation process and learn how to use the tools available to them and traditional techniques to bring their own ideas to the screen. Each week we will view animations and discuss both classic and new works. During class we share our works in progress and discuss the creative process, our challenges and successes. A healthy dose of Inspiration coupled with individual artistic and technical support are all hallmarks of Animated Filmmaking at Locust Street Art. -- Roger Scott
