Long Beach Republican Committee 17.01.2021

As we prepare to celebrate the life and wisdom of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. this weekend we recall his legacy and fight for equity, social justice, unity and love. The world and our nation needs more love these days. Let’s continue to be inspired by the example of Dr. King, not just on MLK Day but each and everyday and in all we do.

All LB residents should be outraged that the city has lost the lawsuit and has to pay the developer $131 million.

There were 103 confirmed positive COVID-19 test results in the City of Long Beach during the week ending December 2nd. That is an average of 14 positive cases a... day. This rise in cases is concerning. Let's work together to keep our community safe. Please practice social distancing, wash hands frequently, wear a mask, and get tested. https://projects.newsday.com//tracking-the-coronavirus-o/ See more

An important COVID-19 Update from Long Beach City Manager’s Office. Last week, there were 58 confirmed positive test results for COVID-19 in the City of Long B...each. While this is not the 150 or so weekly cases we were seeing in the Spring, it is a significant increase from the average of 7 cases per week we were seeing throughout the Summer and early Fall, and is an obvious cause for concern. Where we go from here will be up to each of us. While Thanksgiving is typically a time to gather with family, friends, and loved ones, the Governor has issued an Executive Order limiting the number of individuals attending residential gatherings to 10 and the CDC recommends only celebrating at home with the people you live with. Contact tracing has shown that indoor gatherings are one of the major drivers of transmission right now. What we all do on Thanksgiving will directly impact how we are able to celebrate Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and Christmas. It will determine if stores and schools can remain open. So please, choose wisely. Whatever your plans are, please be as safe as possible. Wear a mask, maintain social distancing, and wash your hands frequently. Thank you to our first responders, our healthcare workers and our essential workers. And thank you for doing the right thing, Long Beach. Happy Thanksgiving.

When you have a Democrat majority and certain council members that get too comfortable in their seat, you'll see this happen every time!
