Garden eels use their tails to dig their burrows and rarely leave.

Geoffroy’s marmosets are small primates, easily recognized for their puffed white cheeks, face, and neck.

African penguins have a small pink gland above each eye, which helps them cope with high temperatures. Blood is sent to the glands where it is cooled by the surrounding air, and keeps the animal cooler. The glands get pinker the hotter it gets.

Our seals welcome all visitors to the Long Island Aquarium! Located right outside the main entrance, the 800-square foot natural rockscape pool provides a home to our harbor seals and our gray seals.
