Nurse of the Month for April 2021! My name is Aubrey, and I am so grateful to be a nurse, since this career has proven to be the adventure of a lifetime! Like all nurses, COVID-19 radically changed the nature of my job. After working the hospital COVID units, I transitioned to Public Health Nursing with SCDHS administering COVID tests and mass vaccination PODs. This job is anything but mundane, providing unique experiences such as transporting vaccine with police escort, traveling via a 6-seat plane and commuter boat to vaccinate Fisher’s Island residents, and working alongside Suffolk County Police Department to vaccine medically underserved community members at the Boys & Girls Club. I am grateful to be part of an amazing team, and humbled to be serving the community.
