Premiering TOMORROW! ~Arguably the *best* thing to come out of Pandemic times?... a dance film created AT THE BRONX ZOO!! Featuring New York City Ballet Dancers and Musicians, this short video work (12 minutes) was choreographed and conceived by LotusWorks Co-Founder Skyla Schreter. LotusWorks x A-Y/dancers present [loculamentum] Sunday, August 1st @ 7:30pm - The Elk's Lodge Lawn... 900 Wolcott Ave, Beacon, NY [loculamentum] is the first work choreographed by LotusWorks Co-Founder and Choreographer Skyla Schreter for Hudson Valley repertory dance company A-Y/dancers. This full-evening length dance work will feature a cast of nine dancers including A-Y/dancers guest artists, and dancers from New York City Ballet and Kansas City Ballet. With an original set designed by LotusWorks Co-Founder and interdisciplinary artist Aaron Loray, with original costumes by Lauren Carmen, the piece will use music by Claude Debussy and Miles Davis to explore the process of coping with and 'compartmentalizing' personal trauma. Took my first full class in 11 months today! After months spent choreographing and teaching but not so much dancing it was nice to challenge myself with an attempt at ballet technique. Certainly humbling . Come join me for open class 10:30am tues/thurs/sat at LotusWorks. It’s a company style warm up class so it’s fast-paced, not a whole lot of personal corrections.. all experienced dancers are welcome! (PS I didn’t give these weird combinations in class this was just my ...choreography brain trying to hi-jack my exercises ) . For those looking for a more academically-structured class with personal feedback, Saturdays starting in March I’ll be teaching an Intermediate Ballet class as well as an Adult Intro to Ballet Workshop.
