We are going to have a sparring celebration at the new building Thirsday, New Year’s Eve around 2pm. This is for current members only! Come spare and have some snacks, check out the new place and brush up on your skills. Maybe I’ll even do a dual wield class! [EVENT] Yeah I know, covid and stuff, please read me :D LS Paris is trying to organize an event in the south of France, in March. Here is the content ; -When: ...4th to 7th March 2021 -How long: 4 days, 3 nights -How much: 250 per person. Full board. -Where: An island, the Île Sainte Marguerite. 10 minutes by boat from Cannes. The boat (round trip) is included in the price you pay. It is on this island that you can find the prison of the man in the iron mask (French obscure History, eh). It is 2.1 km square, that is to say that it’s not large, and holds a military fort which has been transformed into a holiday center where you can find: Rooms for 3 to 8 people (dormitory style, you can ask who you want to be with), a 160m parquet/tatami room, a basketball court... And just as many incredible sights and landscapes: cove, pebble beach, forest... For walks and duels, it's awesome! The only downside is that the toilets and showers are not always in the room but close to it. A 4 days schedule, that means; 1/ The day we arrive 2/ The day of the workshop and some free time (workshop topic tbd) 3/ The day of the tournament 4/ The day we leave. The tournament will be called the Iron Mask Tournament, and will normally have a nice victory cup. We also hope to draw inspiration from the events of this stay (Tournament, trip, good spirit) for the manga A Story of Light: Gemini, volume 2. To be entirely honest with you, we need to validate the quote before January 4, which makes it extra difficult considering the covid context. This means a lot of work has to be done by then : that we gather enough people (40-50), that a Master or a Tecnico has agreed to come, that we have taken pre-orders to pay the site, see about the tournament organization etc. etc. This was the only date possible for them, the next one could be end of next year. Once again, I know this is a blurred global context, we will probably not be out of the woods with covid yet, but I doubt there will be any new lock-down, and we will take all the distancing measures on site if necessary at this time. COVID DISCLOSURE: If you don't feel comfortable with the COVID situation: it's legitimate. We're not stupid enough to put people at risk, and we still don't know how things are going to be, but we're building this event in hope it's going to be better. If you think things will get better and you're willing to take the risk, which involves common sense (isolate yourself as much as possible before and after the event just in case, for fellow ludosporters and your loved ones, doing a test before coming) indicate here in comment that you're interested! If you pay for this event and your country then closes its border : you will be refunded. I really need to have the number of people coming to continue working on this, as we cannot organize it without a minimum of 40 people.
