I woke up today and this was the first thing I saw on Facebook, which ultimately led to my decision to close today at 5! I guess I would just like to have Mothers Day dinner with my kids before they turn into teenagers and hate me. Happy Mothers Day to all.

All proceeds of this fundraiser go to Sergeant Gil Sterk and his family to help cover medical expenses. ... For those of you who don’t know Gil and Joy Sterk: Gil Sterk is a 22 year member of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and is currently a Sergeant on the Road Patrol. Joy worked for Ontario County for 5 years until she lost her job due to her accident and this is their story: In August of 2019, Gil and Joy were bike riding when Joy hit a barrier and sustained serious injuries. Joy was told her spinal cord was damaged and she would not walk again. Gil has been her primary care provider ever since. On December 31st, 2020 Gil woke up in intense pain. He was admitted to the hospital for surgery right away. He has had two surgeries so far and is expecting at least one more for a laceration in his large intestine. He will be out of work for approximately two months and possibly up to six months before he can drive a police car again. He is close to losing their health insurance. These events have been life changing. The medical bills alone are mounting and the fear of losing their health insurance puts even more stress on an already unimaginable situation. Please help give the Sterks peace of mind and let them focus on each other and their recoveries. Your donation will go directly to the Sterks to help relieve their financial burden.
