NYS FREE FISHING WEEKEND FEBRUARY 13-14, 2021. The requirement for a fishing license is waived during this period. This is a great opportunity to try ice fishing for the first time or for experienced anglers to take friends ice fishing for the first time. Beginning ice anglers are encouraged to download the Ice Fishing Chapter (PDF) of DEC's I FISH NY Beginners Guide to Freshwater Fishing (PDF, 16 MB) for information on how to get started ice fishing. Additional information, including a list of waters open to ice fishing, can be found on the DEC ice fishing webpage and the Public Lakes and Ponds maps. https://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/fish_marine_pdf/gsfishing9.pdf

Due to COVID, there is a delay getting 2021 pins. As soon as they are received, they will be going out in the mail. We will also hole pick up times at the clubhouse for anyone that didn’t opt to have it mailed. Dates will be posted once pins have arrived.

Our trails are now open but please be cautious. Williamstown area received about 3 inches of new snow last night. We are supposed to get another 6 Inches tod...ay. We do not plan to groom trails today as there is little snow to work with and could damage the trails. The ground is not frozen and there are some wet spots on C5 north of County Route 30 and Redfield Reservoir. If going north, recommend C4 out of Williamstown to Redfield. We do plan to groom as soon as we get additional snow & colder temps. Weather next week looks great! We do not plan to groom today. If you decide to ride our trails, please respect our landowners and stay on trails. Do not throttle down and rip up the trails on our landowners fields! We do not want any more trail closures! How are our hunters doing? Let’s see some pictures of successful hunts on MRC properties. Also please don’t forget to report your harvest to our president Gary Crawford. Just need which property your harvest came from and it will be kept anonymous.
