September has ushered in what will doubtless be the most interesting squash season this century. Finally after what feels like an eternity, we are at a place where the plastic has come off the entranceway to Manhattan Squash and you can see the cafe. The cafe won’t open quite yet, but once indoor dining is allowed in the city, we’ll start to offer a limited selection of food and beverage. Our gym equipment is set up and we’re ready to go pending an inspection by the city. ... We have partnered with Nicole Bunyan to launch Manhattan Squash Fitness. Nicole plays on the pro tour and she is trained as a fitness instructor. We’ve been re-opened for a little over a month now, and my oh my the things we have learned. First and foremost of course are the COVID adjustments. Or to be lighthearted about a very serious subject we’re working to ensure there’s no such thing as a Squash Transmitted Disease. We’re doing all we can, cleaning, disinfecting and temperature taking while our community is doing all they can by limiting their partners and ensuring a mask is worn at all times. It is a great privilege to have been allowed to open and everyone is going above and beyond to ensure a safe environment. If you haven’t visited, we hope you will.

Please welcome the HRC squash pro of 20 years, Cory Azriliant, who is joining Manhattan Squash effective immediately. Cory will be assisting John Musto in running the adult squash program, teaching lessons in the early morning, evenings and weekends, and running clinics and round robins when group activities are allowed.
